OK. We have been many times to DL. WE are doing all of the character meals, BB (twice- I know, DH...), WCT. We will also eat at Rancho, Stage Door, and Coke Corner. I need one more place to grab a bite. Here's the deal..

Sunday November 22
Brunch- Minnie's
Late Lunch- Rancho del Zachalo
4:30 Holiday Tour
We end the tour by IASW for premium viewing for 6:30 parade. We would like a counter service place that would put us in good shape for the fireworks.
Any suggestions?? And why???
TIA!!

If it were me, after the parade I would head towards Tomorrowland, hit up Pizza Port or Tomorrowland Terrace for something to eat, and then continue on towards the hub for seats for the fireworks. :thumbsup2

You know, we've never eaten at either place in tomorrowland. Which is the one that has the Jedi Training on it's stage?

Thanks! Might have to check out the chicken fussili everyone raves about!

I would HIGHLY reccommend Pizza Port over the Tomorrowland Terrace any day. I think that's the worst place to eat in the park.

Another vote for Pizza Port...the fusilli is SO good (and the servings are huge!), plus it really adds to the "space" atmosphere if you eat there at night, with all of Tomorrowland's lights lit up.

And another vote against Tomorrowland Terrace...their breakfast is pretty good, the Jedi show is cute, but their food @ lunch & dinner...not so good. Unless you like your burgers "dry", as opposed to medium, rare, well done, etc!

How about Hungry Bear, great atmosphere.

I think we want to stay away from the whole River of Americas area due to the large crowds for F! Last year when we did the Holiday tour, we tried to get over to Cafe Orleans for our PS but it was sooo difficult because of the crowds :thumbsup2

Takeout from the Plaza Inn? We got their chicken dinner to go last time we were there. It was a pretty big serving (3 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies and a dinner roll) for my dh and I to split. We carried it over to a curb right in front of the castle and chowed down while we waited for the fireworks. I have heard others on the board say that they actually just hang out at the outdoor seating of the Plaza Inn and watch the fireworks from there while they eat. I have only eaten there a few times but its always been good and the portions are large enough to split. They also had a great Cobb salad. Yummy! Good luck with your plans!

I second the Plaza Inn recommendation. We did this while waiting for the fireworks on our trip in May. I had a ton of people ask me where I got my food! DH and I split a fried chicken dinner (they give you 1/2 of a chicken) and added a side salad. DS 13 had the pasta and loved it. Got corndogs for the little kids and it worked out great.

DH and other DS's waited while DS 13 and I went and got the food and then we took it back and all sat and ate dinner together - worked out really well.

After we were done eating we took turns waiting to save our spots while the other person took the little kids on rides.

You won't even need takeout, just eat at Plaza Inn! Your timing will be good enough that you can just wait there and watch the fireworks. That's what we did in August, just had dinner there and watched while we ate. DBF and I shared the chicken plate, the girls both had pasta kids' meals. Oh DBF and I added a side salad to our meal but we really didn't need it......we would have been fine just sharing the chicken dinner.

Hey Kerri,
How good of a view can we expect from the Plaza Inn? She we try to get the tables up the steps before you go in or the ones on the ground?? I know this is a DIS "secret" we are divulging!! :rotfl2:

We sat on the side closest to the castle, so when you walk in we sat to the left. There were some trees but we had a seat with a clear spot right between the trees and we had a really good view! We had a perfect view of Tink and Dumbo both flying. :) So, that's where I would suggest, we were not right next to the trees, rather we sat 1 row "out" from the trees that line the dining area. If I have time tonight I'll post a photo or two I took from our seats, I watched the fireworks but held the camera up and just kept hitting the button to take shots, so some were bad but some were really good.

Here's another vote for the Plaza Inn. Their food is really good. I really like their fried chicken dinner, and it really is big enough for two. The cobb salad is also good, and huge.

If you go there, just make sure you can see the castle and the area where Tink flies. They leave the umbrellas, although they tie them down, so position yourselves so you can see well.

We were there last Saturday, and we actually ate early enough so that we could go on Main Street to watch the fireworks (better view) - thanks Melody for saving our spots. :)

If you are only going to watch the fireworks one time, you might want to take the recommendation to get a plate to go and go sit on a curb to watch the fireworks. After the holiday fireworks, "snow" falls, and if you want to be a part of that experience you will need to be on Main Street, or between the Partners statue & the castle.

You can get a plate from Plaza Inn, hot dogs from Coke Corner, or corn dogs (yum) from the red wagon next to the Plaza Inn. I've also seen people with a box of pizza from Pizza Port eating while waiting for fireworks.
