So I have never stayed on site at a disney resort... but Im starting to look at planning at trip for 2013 (almost done with our 2012 planning) and I want to stay at a disney resort. When we go on this trip it will be just me, my husband and our 2 kids (2 and 4 on trip). There are the three I am thinking about right now.. Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary. I have always wanted to stay at the beach club since i was a little girl (we usually stay at swan and dolphin) I really want to try out the pool!. I also love that it is close to two parks and the rooms look nice. I think we will spend a significant time at the resort so i figured there would be lots for us to do around the area. I love the look of the contemporary rooms and I think the villas look very nice too... I also love that its so close to mk. I think the theme of wilderness looks great. But Im not a big fan of having to take the bus everywhere. In-put on any would be great... not sure if we want to get a room or a villa at any of locations. I really want some place that my small kids will enjoy! I'm sure they will be happy with any. I know a lot of people on here seem to like poly... so I would consider that too!

Hi chimommy,

From what you described, I think you should go to BC. It's never too late to fulfill your childhood dreams :woohoo:

I have a friend who only goes to the Polynesian. She loves it.

I think you should check around some of the Resort FAQ boards-- They have a lot of information.

Happy Travels!

I would suggest the Beach Club for your family. I've heard nothing but GREAT things about the pool there and since your kids are little, I think they would really enjoy it!
It's close proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studies is great too. There is nothing better than walking from the Beach Club to the International Gateway in less than 10 minutes. The walk to Hollywood Studios is nice as well. I've taken the Boat from that area to the parks too and I love that boat ride.

I think the Wilderness Lodge is another good choice too. The boat ride from the Wilderness Lodge to The Magic Kingdom is great and is relatively short. You can always transfer from MK to Epcot via the Monorail as well. The pool at the Wilderness Lodge is great too! It's between the resort and Bay Lake.

Both of those resorts are on my bucket list! :goodvibes Good Luck with your decision!

We did CR last summer and we are doing a split stay of CR and BC this year. I fell in love with BC but last year the kids where 3 and 1.5 and being able to walk to the CR was wonderful. We were there one night when the monorail went out and it was so nice to not wait in any lines and just get back to the resort. This time we don't want to give up CR but I want to try BC so we are doing both! I don't think you can choose wrong.

I don't know how many nights you are going, but maybe a split stay between CR and BC? That would give you easy access to 3 out of 4 parks at some point during your stay. If a split stay isn't something you are interested in, then I would suggest BC. The shallow sand bar area is so great for little ones. If you get kids meals from the poolside CS they come in a bucket with a shovel that you can use in the sand bar area.

I would vote fulfill your childhood wish and do the Beach Club!! We did, however, stay at WL in September of 2010 and love, love, loved it. Boat to MK, nice dining options, fun theme, very family oriented. Have fun!

We love both WL and BC. The rooms are larger at BC, and SAB is great. Also being able to walk to Epcot and walk or boat to DHS is a nice perk.

But with your kids ages- What park will you be spending the most time in? WL is very close to MK, and the boat to MK is a fun way to get there.

We haven't stayed at CR, mainly because the theming (or lack of) doesn't do anything for me. But it is on the monorail, you can walk to MK, then take the monorail back. It would be handy for you, if you have strollers, you don't have to fold them up for transportation. At least to MK & Epcot.

Have fun planning!
