Hubby & I cannot decide whether or not we want to do the dining plan again. We, (DH, DS, Me & DS) are going May 11 -19. I have booked some ARDs because I found out last year, if you didn't book ADRs you may not get to eat at a TS at a decent time. I have Tony's, Concourse Steakhouse, Wolfgang Pucks, Kona, Spoodles & WCC. We don't care about character dining.
What we liked about it last year was we were able to eat more "freely" - meaning, it was already paid for, so we could order whatever we wanted without worrying about the bill. (We paid for DDP last yr). We like that the tip is included. We were able to try some restaurants we might not have if we were coughing up the cash then & there.
What we didn't like was having to plan every meal and be somewhere at specific time each day - we like to go with the flow to some extent. We don't like that with the DDP, you almost HAVE to have ADRs to eat at a sit down restaurant - whether or not you are on the plan.....the restaurants are SOOOOO crowded! (it seemed to us). The kids menu....very limited....little choice. We don't really eat like that at home - appetizer, entree & dessert - that's a lot of food for us. We eat normally eat at what I'd call middle of the road restaurants - Applebee's, Olive Garden, Max & Erma's .....not fancy or "different" but they work for us.
So, help us decide what we should do....btw, we are staying at CSR for the first time ever.
