We already have our home resort reserved (2 BR) for Thanksgiving (Beach Club Villas) but if we can switch out at the 7 month window, we might want to something new. The only DVC resorts we haven't tried yet are the Treehouses, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge. Our kids who are now 12 and 13 have always loved BCV but we all love giving the other resorts a try.

Does anyone want to offer suggestions based on their favorites? I know everyone has a preference. But if something really stands out that you'd like to mention, feel free to help us decide ; )

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Well, I would take BC over any of the other options you have listed. But since you are looking for a possible change, my vote would be for Wilderness Lodge. The theming is perfect for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

It totally depends on your groups, plans, etc. including dining options and parks you plan to visit. For your ages and situation you might consider BWV for a BW view or standard view to save a few points. The BW offers a lot of teens but provides a similar experience to BCV in many ways. OTOH, if one resort is clearly overall more convenient for your dining and park plans, that might move to the head of the list. Another option might be to hit BLT, OKW or AKV Kidani for a 1 BR to save the points as well. Let us know what you decide and how it works out for you.

where we eat isn't an issue. We always rent a car and get around without a problem. I guess my preferences center more around the "feel" of the actual resort. Everyone talks about how much they love Wilderness Lodge and I'm thinking it might be a great option for the holidays. I'm sure it'll be tough to get in at the 7 month window but willing to give it try.

Thanks everyone!

While it will be hard to get at 7 months, I would vote for Wilderness Lodge. I have spent Thanksgiving at VWL a few times. I was perfect theming for the holiday. All the Christmas decorations are up and it was so beautiful, REALLY gets you into the holiday spirit. Thiose big leather chairs in the lobby of the villas are great to sit in after Thanksgiving dinner;)

We booked a 1 BR at BLT for Thanksgiving at 11 months and then friends decided to join us. I booked a 2BR at AKV (our second home resort) recently because there were no 2BR's available at BLT. We really want to stay at BLT or BCV for location . . .

OMG, does anyone know if there is a way to coordinate when someone cancels????

I would sOOOO love that room.

Now. . . let me take a breath and give some input to your post!!

I have not stayed at WLV during the holidays but have been there and it is beautiful and has a great "Christmasy" feel to it when it is decorated. So, Thanksgiving would be a great time to stay there.

Well, our favorite DVC resort for Thanksgiving is HHI. Been there for the last 6 years. At WDW, though, I'd probably recommend Wilderness Lodge Villas only because the Christmas decorations should be up by then, and lots of people like the decorations there.
