Help us decide...one night stay added.

Ok, I have a decision to make...soon. We booked a dining package for 8 days and are staying at the POP for the first time. I just booked my flights and staying an extra day actually saved us quite a bit of money. I would like to take advantage of this and get away from POP for the last night and actually spend the entire day at a resort instead of the parks. We love AKL and that sounds like one of our great options, although I'm open to other deluxes as well (except CR, which we didn't like last time....).

So here is what I'm thinking... If we booked AKL concierge, we could actually enjoy the resort, enjoy the concierge lounge and spend the day swimming and animal watching. The next morning we could take the sunrise safari. BTW, do we need AK admission to go on the safari, or can you just take the safari? Also, can we add an extra day's admission to our MYW tickets even though we are changing resorts? We wouldn't continue the dining plan, just tickets if they are needed for the sunrise safari. Our tickets are expiring.

What would be some other deluxes that would be nice to enjoy for the day?

Thanks for your advice. We love AKL and I was a bit bummed we wouldn't be staying there. This would give us the chance to enjoy it for day and a half and do the sunrise safari.

Yes, you can easily add a day to passes. (Would need new tickets to add DDP, which you don't want to do anyway.

Not sure about the Safari that you are talking about. If you have to go into AK, like for the GG breakfast, you'd need a ticket.

You didn't say what time of year you are going, but if I had one day to stay it would be the Poly. They have a better pool...although the AKL's looks cool, too.

We are leaving 11/9, so in about a month. Although it'll be cooler, we hope to swim. Last time at AKL, I didn't visit the pool, but DH and DD did and liked it.

I agree about the AKL. It is so massively and wonderfully themed, you can easily immerse yourself in the experience for a full day. And going on the sunrise safari the next morning would be the icing on the cake. Great idea!
