My DH and I are playing a long weekend trip to DW in May. This is our first time using our DVC points and membership. That being said we are also planning a longer trip in November staying at OKW. So which resort would you choose to stay at?

OKW (our home) in a deluxe studio
Animal Kingdom in a stand view room
Animal Kingdom in a savannah view studio

There is only a 2 point difference between OKW and AKSV. There is about a 20 point difference between those two and the standard view. I think I am making this more complicated than it needs to be, but since it is our first welcome home I want to make it magical!

I would take AK with a savannah view. The OKW rooms are larger, walking distance to DTD but AKL is absolutely beautiful. You may ales want to look at BWV or BCV since you will be there both times either at the F&G show in May or the F&W depending on when you are going in Nov.

The savannah view is nice! However, if you are concerned about points, even with the standard view at AKL, you can still go to the observation areas and see the animals. I would definitely pick AKL just so you can stay somewhere different.

Second this. Also BVC/BWV might be better options for a romantic getaway, IMHO.

I'll go against the grain on this one. If your home resort is OKW, I would recommend that you stay there for your first DVC stay as you're only going to have one 'first time' DVC experience. Making that stay at your home resort makes it special. You'll have more opportunities to stay at AKL (which is fabulous). Besides, OKW has some of the largest rooms available which is always nice.

Just chiming in with an alternate opinion. Relax, you can't go wrong. You'll have a great time with either decision.
