I have an Platinum Annual Pass that expires on 1/7/2018. We have just recently become DVC members direct and I want to take advantage of the AP special that expires on 1/3/2018. Will the system allow me to make that purchase even though I have a pass already?
Also, I want to make sure I am understanding the AP correctly, if I purchase now I can activate on Nov 2018 and have use until Nov 2019 until that expires?

Yes you can buy one while currently holding an active AP (I did). At purchase it will ask you to link it in your MDE, just link them and they'll sit there as an AP certificate until you activate it at Guest Relations (you'll need your blue card and license). Because it's a "certificate" and not an active ticket there's not chance of it being accidentally used.

Yes you purchase it now, hang onto it until next Nov and it is good for a year. This deal has to be activated by Dec 31st 2018.

Yes, but make sure you are buying a NEW pass and not renewing. If you renew, your pass will expire on 1/7/2019. If you call MS to purchase, make sure they KNOW that you are NOT RENEWING your existing pass.

Yes, the NEW pass (represented by a paper voucher or an electronic confirmation number) will not be active until you visit Guest Relations to activate it. IIRC, the offer says that you must activate by the end of 2018. (If you activate after that, you will receive only the amount that you actually paid, rather than the actual AP. In other words, you may have to add funds to the amount you originally paid to actually get an AP).

I am on the phone now attempting to purchase the passes now. It wouldn't let me take care of it on the website " to complete your order we may need more information about each guest who is receiving an annual pass" blah blah blah... I called the number, they provided. The women was very helpful but for whatever reason she couldn't complete it so after 15 min she went to transfer me and the call was dropped. So I called back and was transferred again.... now I have been on hold for 25 min.
Should it be this hard to spend my money? Lol!! This was not how I planned my afternoon, sigh...

Completed purchase! She was so helpful and knowledgeable. I think I was having difficulties because I was calling the regular Disney help center and not the DVC (newbie lesson learned!) She also said since we're staying at the poly in November to just walk over to the TTC window because it's close to the resort and activate the annual passes then.

Good! Thanks for letting us know how it worked out. :)

mine expires the same day, but I renewed instead of a new pass because I would be down in February. DVC agent mistakenly charged for a new pass.

It's been fixed and I get an $89 refund apparently.

When you go to activate your new APs in November, you'll need a photo ID for every person old enough to have a Drivers License to show that they all live at the address you have listed in your membership. Younger kids without a DL don't need to show that.

More specifically, you’ll need photo ID showing same home address as the DVC owner for everyone age 18 and up. Minors under 18 don’t have to show ID even though they might have one.
