Yesterday I turned over my planning to AAA for the first time. I am an over compulsive planner for WDW. It was the hardest thing in the world for me to let go and let someone else make the phone calls.:scared:

Anybody else out there going through the same thing. My family thinks I'm off my rocker.

You do NOT Have to turn everything over to AAA...just because you booked a package with them doesn't mean you have to let them do your ADR's or any special events like MNSSHP or any tours. You can still call yourself and book those as well as making your own ADR's (which is what I did when we booked through AAA. I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted so I did it myself).

What you can't do is make payments online, or call Disney and make a payment, or access the reservation online because it is actually in AAA's name, not yours. All payments must be made to AAA, who will pay Disney.

So...if you want to plan and be in charge of dinner reservations and such HAVE AT IT! For me that is almost as much fun as going! (Planner here too!)

I also turned over our ressie to AAA. I thought it might save me some $ but as it stands now it isn't. Used AAA last year and things pretty much went well. I am still hoping for a code to save me a little $. I am using our local AAA office but a different agent who i like so far.

I had no idea. Thank you. You just made my day. I will do the planning for ADRs.:woohoo:

We saved about 400.00. I dont know how but thats how it worked out. I'm still hoping for a better code and save even more.

Hey again! i just got off the phone with AAA and we will get a $187 discount off our package! The quote we got yesterday was for a standard room but i wanted a water view at CSR and when she checked on that type room we did get the discount which also includes trip insurance!! I have never thought trip insurance was necessary but my niece got sick on our last trip and my dear sis spent 3 days in the room. She could have gotten back a portion of the trip money if she had had the trip insurance. :)

We used AAA April 2007 for the pakage reservation, but planned everything else ourselves and it worked out well. We had also done Disney Travel before and the one thing I didn't like with AAA was not being able to use the website to look at my reservation details and you can't confirm that your hotel has your room booked through Disney either which had me envisioning us arriving in Orlando during Spring Break and finding that some error on AAA's part left us without rooms. It all went off without a hitch though. We will be going in Dec through Disney Travel again but only because AAA couldn't get us into the Lodge Villas. Have a great time planning that trip!

If Disney comes out with a promotion that is lower than the AAA rate will AAA honor the promotional price?

Just bumping this to see if anyone can answer my question....

Yes it is possible to change to the new promotion. The savings are not added on to what you already have but rather is used instead of the aaa discount. Remember that all codes are limited so it may not be available for the exact room you already have booked with aaa.
