I know it will be difficult to explain, but can someone try to tell me how to make a "&" from the "E" (not really an E, but sort of) and the "-" that they give you??

Am I supposed to cut TWO of the "-" ??

Thanks in advance!

Which set did you get? I've got the script letter set and I've got that symbol.

We have "Bounce."

Maybe the "E" thing is all there is, but it just doesn't look like the typical "&" which to me looks a lot like an "8" ;)

YES!!! The & symbol in the Bounce set does look a little strange, but once you cut the shadow and the character, it looks like an "&" symbol, sort of . . .

Maybe that's it. My dd didn't want a shadow for the &. I might just have to have her do one! :)

Where does the little "-" go then?

Looking at a bunch of the other Sizzlits alphabets online, they all use only ONE piece. They are very different from each other---some looking like a traditional & and others looking more like an E with a vertical line through it. I'm *guessing* that MY bounce & probably is a stand alone die cut, it's just so different from any of the traditional "&'s" I've seen.

Hmmm....

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

I just went to the Sizzix site to look at it & understand why you're confused. Bounce comes with an "and" sign, but it isn't the ampersand "&". It's a different shortcut way of denoting "and" - it comes from the Latin words "et al" meaning 'and the rest' or 'and others'. (It's been 37 yrs since I took Latin. )

So it's supposed to look like a cursive capital "E" with a bit of a "t" on its tail. KWIM?

And from what it looks like on the Sizzix site, the non-shadow (what do you call that??) actually looks more like what they're intending.

Thank you, thank you!!

Well, it's clear now. I just have to get used to the look of a different "and" sign! :) Maybe it'd be easier to just go buy another Sizzlit alphabet? HA HA!

Sorry - it took me a while to figure it out too! It's "Know What I Mean"....and here I thought I was the only one who couldn't figure it out. ;)

thanks - i tried to figure that one out when i saw it before - but i just had to give in :(
