Help trying to book GF room

Help which room do I ask for GF concierge main building? the CM tells me there is no castle view from the main build. I really want a special stay and nice room.

If you are going to splurge, I would suggest a Honeymoon Suite. Some of these have a castle view, and it is the only way you can be *guaranteed* a king bed room. DF and I have booked this room for our wedding, and we have requested an octagon shaped room so that the closet is big enough to hold my 55lb. wedding dress.

I like the idea of the honeymoon suite, but there is no balcony Do you think that is a big deal? I hate being closed in (thought I would die at Carribean Beach when I couldn't open the window) and we usually do sit out on the balcony when we go away, but I am open to your opinions.

The dress is huge, I know. But it was my dream dress. However, if I wasn't doing a wedding at Disney, I doubt I would have picked out such a huge dress...

Just remember, only the octagon shaped rooms do not have a balcony. The others do. Maybe that will help.

Also, I have stayed in the RPC deluxe rooms. But, even if you request a king bed, as we did, you aren't guaranteed to get it. The only way to make sure you get the king room is to book a Honeymoon suite. Not only are they bigger than the standard room, the are just beautiful. I do think some of them have a Castle view too, an added bonus!!

My rate from Dec 16-26 (AAA mind you) is $596 a night. This is during value season.

We were in the GF main building concierge for our weddings. We had a direct castle view from the bed. The room was 4421- Ponce de Leon. It was one of the honeymoon suites with a full 18- degree view from the Polynesian and Wedding Pavilion to the gardens, pools, and courtyards at the GF. It was fabulous! I love the turret rooms! I'd always called them "Princess Rooms" from the time I was little. We didn't want to leave! And the closet was awesome! Awesome! And the bath tub......

Take a peek at www. S u i t e D i s n e y.com. Obviously, there are no spaces. Click "Disney Suites" in the upper left, and then GF. Admire the suites we all wish we could afford and take a looky loo at the Honeymoon Suite.

Hi:

I actually just came back from Disney and had a chance to see the honeymoon suites. They are on the second floor with small balconies. they overlook the Grand Floridian Marina and the Castle. The views are wonderful. The lady who helped us said that a castle view is not guaranteed but that if you let them know that its your honeymoon, they'll do everything they can to accommodate you on that floor with the view. They have great views.

FYI: The Contemporary Hotel has guaranteed views of the Castle, and they are in the process of renovating all their rooms. Their new rooms are beautiful, with Plasma TV's and beautiful bathrooms. We also wanted a view of the Castle, and we ended up picking the Contemporary, because the rooms are that great!!!!!!!

FYI: The Polynesian also has a category with guranteed castle views.

Maybe call the people at Disney reservations directly and get their advice. You don't necessarily have to book right away, but whenever I call they are so friendly and helpful. I'm sure if you tell them the situation and how perfect you want the room to be then they will give you advice. Good luck!

For the Grand Floridian Resort, in general, you need to book a Lagoon View room if you want to put in a request for a Magic Kingdom or Cinderella Castle view (a Garden View room won’t give you that option). Remember, a Magic Kingdom or Cinderella Castle view is only a request. The resort will try to honor your request if it is stated on your room reservation.

If you book a Main Building concierge room, you simply put in a request for a Cinderella Castle view (since there is no Lagoon View category in the main building). Again, it is only a request. The resort will try to honor your request if it is stated on your room reservation.

There are two types of Honeymoon Suite rooms in the Main Building. It is the luck of the draw as to which type of room you will get (they are by request only).

If you book a Honeymoon Suite and you’re given a room on the 2nd floor, then, yes, you will have a balcony and a Cinderella Castle view. I haven’t stayed on the 2nd floor but have stayed on the 3rd and 4th floors overlooking the marina. All my rooms had balconies and Cinderella Castle views. The difference between the 2nd floor and the other floors is the bedding arrangement (king-sized bed in the honeymoon rooms) and a larger tub (sort of a mini-whirlpool in the honeymoon rooms, if I remember correctly).

If your Honeymoon Suite room isn’t located on the 2nd floor, then it will be located in one of the turrets. Depending upon its location, you may or may not get a Castle View. These rooms don’t have balconies but do have windows that can be opened.

Remember, when you book your room, put in a request for a Cinderella Castle view and a balcony if that is what you truly want. The resort will try to honor your request but don’t be too disappointed if they can’t. I’m sure that you’ll have a lovely stay no matter where your room is located.

when my family stayed at the GF in a suite, we did not have a castle view. and since it was june, the hotel was booked and they couldn't give us another room. when we got home my mom called and complained, and the CM she talked to said if you call up to 14 days in advance of your arival, you can "request" a room with a certain view, b/c it's not until then that they actually assign the specific rooms. good luck!
