I am leavin the uk for WDW on the 5th of October and haven't got a clue how to get to our resort (Old key west) from Sanford airport. I was thinking about getting a taxi when we get there but wasn't sure if it would be cheaper to book transportation with mears :confused3 Iam only 21 and traveling with my boyfriend and i haven't been this far from home without my family  If anyone could help it would be much appreciated! Thankyou

I would think that a cab would be pretty expensive, Mears or one of the other shuttle companies would be your best bet.
You can not book Mears on line for transportation from Sanford, you have to call them direct or you might even be able to make arrangements when you arrive at the airport.
Here is a link to the airports transportation page, maybe that will help

you could also try tiffany town car. I use whenever i book my mom's trips to WDW, this way she dosen't have to carry her luggage. They met you at luggage pickup and drop you off at the front door of your resort, and visa-versa when you head home.

their website is www.tiffanytowncar.com

Tiffiney is a great company!! This would be my choice, they will also include a stop on your way should you need to stop at a grocery store or somplace. Just tell them when you make your ressie, and if you forget just tell the driver and they will make the stop.

We used TT to get from Sanfort to POR and back again. It was about $200 but it was worth it.
Other towncar companies will have service out there as well.

cab is around $100 each way and they are available right outside the airport when you arrive.

Your best bet economically is the transportation service through your transportation package by the charter company American Coach. It will cost you about $82.00 round trip from Sanford. I think their charge is still $21.00 each way per person. There is some waiting involved.

If not that than schedule a car service. The Sanford website will help you out in finding car service. Use those companies listed as they are permitted at the airport. Those companies are usually the cheapest as they will not have to pay an extra charge to pick you up. I would get a link but it isn't coming up. Don't attempt using those that are listed as shuttles because most of them are actually car services and need to load a minimum number before they leave the airport.

Edd, is that service (American Coach) the same service that Allegiant Air uses? When you book air with them, they offer shuttle service to WDW and it was around that amount. Just curious. I didn't know that 'anyone' could book a ride.

No, that is not the same service that Allegiant uses. Allegiant usually puts you aboard what I consider local taxis who charge a shuttle rate per person. Those are the ones I refer to when I say they have to wait around for usually 6 passengers. Most of those vehicles are 10 passenger vans. There are American Coach vans involved in that deal, but I don't think they have any connection with the American Coach busses.

American Coach Busses usually serve the international passengers and the fare is collected ahead of time.
