I have a problem..I want to eat at too many restaurants! But not at enough to need the Deluxe dining plan. Really Yachtsman Steakhouse is the only one that really tempts me to use 2 credits on anyway.

We go to Disney at the most once a year & all year think about how good certain ones are so we have our must-do repeats.
However, at the moment I have several OOP meals lined up too. We have free dining....so is it silly to leave some free QS meals & pay OOP for some meals instead? I'm thinking I need to drop at least one..ideas anybody?

The must do meals we have are:
LeCellier[2 times..first & last days],
Coral Reef,
Ohana &
CP breakfast before park opens & never had breakfast here.

I'm wondering is it worth it to do OOP..

1. Kona breakfast[never ate here]..will have to get there from POR
2. Tusker House Safari breakfast before park opens [have done before]
3. Via Napola lunch..would share a pizza here.[never ate here]
4. Fulton Crab House lunch[ never ate here but I've always thought it looks neat...imput if you have ate here at lunch please, I thought the chicken sandwiches sounded good.]
5. What about Teppon Edo for lunch.[never ate here & if we did might use the CP credit instead & pay CP out of pocket.]

If you picked 2 of the OOP ones..which would you pick & why.
I really appreciate your imput!:

Not sure when you're planning on going, but Le Cellier is being upgraded to signature dining come March 2011. I think only dinner will be a 2 credit meal.

Our of your other choices- breakfast at Kona sounds good...TONGA TOAST :thumbsup2 Haven't been, but Teppan Edo was very highly recommended to us, and several friends have enjoyed Fultons.

Well, right off the bat, if you really want to go to Fulton Crab House, that MUST be OOP because Fulton's is NOT on the Dining Plan at all...and did you look at the prices? It's a pricey place. I would skip all the table service breakfasts except CP to get into MK early. Otherwise, though we like Kona breakfast very much it will be a pain to get there early in the AM from another resort unless you're driving yourself. Honestly, we do not care to start the park day on a full stomach...we like using our snack credit to get a pastry for breakfast (or just have a granola bar) and then have a big counter service lunch...we use all our table service for dinner (much bigger value, cost-wise. Even when we do free dining, we figure it's a discount on the vacation so why not maximise the discount by using the dining credits for the most expensive meals? I really can't see paying OOP for table service meals when you'll be leaving counter-service on your card. That means your cash table service meals are really costing you about $15-$20 more per person (the value of that counter service meal you're leaving.)

Kona Cafe breakfasts are huge! It's a good place to pay OOP and split a meal, ordering extra beverages as needed. But I'm one of the minority that does not care for the Tonga Toast. I love the macadamia nut pancakes with pineapple. The largest breakfast there, and ideal for splitting, is the Big Kahuna.

We've eaten breakfast here both when staying at the Poly and when staying at BWI. But we did not try to do rope drop either time. From BWI we took the bus to MK, then the boat launch to the Poly because a boat was right there when we approached. (It stops at the GF, then the Poly, then back to the MK.) You can also hop on the monorail or the ferry.

Sharing a pizza at Via Napoli also sounds like a great choice for paying OOP.

You can use up QS credits as snacks if you desire, it just normally does not make economic sense. But it would be better to use them up as snacks than to let them go to waste. Some snacks travel home well even if you are flying.

I agree with Catne on many points. I would also like to add, as much as we love LeCellier, I would never eat there twice in 1 trip. There are just too many other places to experience and enjoy.
I also agree I wouldn't travel to Kona for breakfast. We have eaten there several times and have always enjoyed our meals, but I wouldn't take the time traveling from from POR to Poly, then to MK just for the breakfast. I would definately keep the CP breakfast before the park opens for sure!

Tusker House breakfast: We have had breakfast before the park opens for the past 2 trips and have it scheduled for our Aug trip. It is our absolute favorite character meal on property. :lovestruc

Via Napoli: Hoping to have some feedback when we return from our Aug trip.;)

Fultons: We have never been there and have no plans to. DTD is a great place to use a CS credit on the dining plan at Wolfgang Puck Express.

Teppan Edo: Is another of our favorites.

For me, I would only do LeCellier once, plan 1 character breakfast (and pay OOP for that), that would free up some dining credits. :)

Thanks for the imput so far.

Right now due to suggestions I'm thinking about dropping Kona due to it is out of the way & I was mainly wanting to try the macadamia nut pancakes.

Mark Teppon Edo off list as Via Napoli is cheaper & can share a pizza & get 2 drinks for about $30 +tip or 2 salads & sm pizza & drinks for about $40+tip ..OOP.

TH breakfast will problary go too...as I want CP before Magic opens & before our Keys To the Kingdom tour.

That will leave Fulton Crab House for lunch OOP at about $25+ tipfor 2 grilled chicken sandwiches & Fries & drinks...worth that to try it.

Will use all my QS that way & only be out an extra $55 to $65 to try 2 new places +tips.

Also, we will be eating at Wolfgang Puck Express another day as we can ride the boat from POR to DTD we are going over there on another day for lunch.

And the reason we are doing LeCellier 2 times is we love a good steak & as LeCellier is still 1 credit when we go & we are at Epcot those nights it was a good choice for us. We don't have hoppers & most steak places are 2 credits.

Thanks for the help.
