Help! Tiny worm looking things in house.

Ever since Hurricane Wilma we have had these tiny little black worm looking things in the house.

We had some carpet damage and had to rip up some of the carpet.

DH put down some carpet squares by the front door.

They are about an inch to 2 inches long.

Any idea what they could be?

do they die really quickly? and curl up into a ball when they do?

I don't know but I get them sometimes too.

I have no idea what they are but my 'bug guy' doesn't seem concerned and my cats like them.

Mine are always by the back door, the don't get much farther than that. I'm sure they come in through that door because I see them dead outside the door.

I've googled and googled and I don't know what they are! We are due for extermination in Dec so if I remember I'll ask the guy.

They sound kind of like a rolly polly. We had them in Missouri.

I have them too, my bug guy just called them millipeds. I don't think they are harmful, I just don't like bugs .

sounds like rolly pollys to me. When I lived in Texas, I used to see tons of them just inside the sliding glass door - little balls of dead rolly pollys

They sound kind of like a rolly polly. We had them in Missouri.

they are longer and skinnier. They look like worms. they roll up like that though.

Maybe in the AM I'll try to get a pic. Mine are only by the back door and only this time of year ( late fall, winter)

they are definately more of a millipede than a rolly polie.

I hate bugs too. Here's a freaky one for you. I swept up 5 dead scorpians and killed a 6th in the garage today! Talk about YUCK. I'll take the wormy things over the Scorpians any day!

I thought about rolie polies,too, but these are really skinny.

The roli polies I've seen are short and wider than these. They do curl up just like the rolie polies, though.

I also googled millipedes and I don't see the legs on these like a millipede would have.

I'll try to take a picture tomorrow. too. RadioNate, it sounds like we are talking about the same thing.

We have scorpians here, too. Knock on wood, I haven't run into one yet. Have seen centipedes though! Yuck!
