I just reserved two, connecting - on request, theme park view, confirmed, rooms at GF for Jan 5-12:yay: . This board has been a fantastic resource but I'm SO confused!! I noticed on the GF thread that a theme park view room may only be of Space Mountain and not include the castle or fireworks in the view. Is this correct? Should I specifically request a castle view with our theme park view rooms? Am I pushing it on requests as I have requested connecting and renovated rooms (BTW the reservation agent said they are not nor do they plan on renovating the GF rooms:rolleyes1 - maybe they aren't renovating the theme park view rooms? )? Also, we are thinking of going a day or two early and staying at the Contemporary in theme park view rooms, the Poly or WL just to see what they would be like, this will probably be our only trip to WDW for many years. Any suggestions or thoughts? I know this is a tired question but just wondering if those newly renovated Cr rooms are worth it. Finally, will the parks be a little less crowded at this time of year or should we still expect large crowds? Thanks so much for your help!!:cloud9:

Congratulations on your upcoming trip - I'm sure you will love the GF - it's a fantastic resort!

Yes, it does seem that a "theme park view" room might not necessarily include a direct view of Cinderella Castle. If such a view is important to you, I would definitely add it to your reservation requests.

However, I would limit your requests to no more than 3 things, and prioritize them. Additionally, since the current room rehab at the GF is reportedly to be complete by the end of the year, you probably don't need to add a request for a renovated room to your reservations, as they should all be done by then. (If they're not, you could always call them later and add this request.) All rooms are reportedly to be done - as you may find, the CRO CM's don't always have the most "updated" information.

So, are you looking to do upwards of 4 resorts in your 7-night stay (CR, GF, WL, and Poly)? IMO, that might be a little too much moving for just a week - I'd probably select 2 resorts, and stick with those, spending 3-4 nights at each. Otherwise, you're going to eat up a lot of time transferring between resorts. If I were to pick, I'd do the GF and the Poly.

You probably won't run into much in the way of crowds until your last few days, as 1/10-1/13 is the Marathon weekend. (The marathon route will also go by the CR, Poly, and the GF.) Is it summer busy? No. But it will be busier than your first few days.

Good luck planning! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the quick reply and information! So sorry not to have been clearer about the number of resorts for the length of our stay.
We are thinking of arriving a couple of days early, the 3rd, and staying at one of the other deluxe resorts, on those two nights, just to get a taste of what another resort would feel like. So sorry if I confused the issue even more!!
Also, does anyone know if suites get booked/filled extra early or if I am doing something wrong? I originally tried to book a two bedroom theme park view suite at GF but was told they were not available, I checked again today and still nothing, I also checked on suites at the CR, and WL. Nothing was available so we will be staying in connecting rooms, hopefully. Do you think all of the suites are booked? Or should I just keep trying? Thanks again!!
