Help! Spouse arriving later than DD and I- how does he proceed?

DD12 and I will be landing in Orlando at 8:30AM, with DH (due to a work complication) hopefully landing at around 5:15PM. We'll take ME and he'll get the rental car. Once I check us in, will he be able to go straight to the resort room with his magic band upon arrival? Does he need anything other than his band to be able to drive in past the resort guard booth? Also, we have dinner reservations at 7:45 at San Angel in Epcot. Will he have time to stop at our room at POFQ to get the parking placard and drop his bag and still make it to Epcot on time? And, finally, we have additional tickets from a prior trip on our bands. Can I have Guest Services adjust all of our bands to use only the current ticket media without him and his magic band being present?

He should be able to just go to the room with his band, unless something is broken, which can happen. We stayed at POR and just told the gate that we were checking in. We did online checkin and never had to go to the front desk. We never got a parking pass; however, I have seen people saying you need one. We were never bothered for not having one. Sometimes we would have to give our driver's license (other resorts), flash our bands, or have the bands scanned. Sorry I can't answer the time to Epcot or ticket questions. Although, I think dinner could be tight, depending upon how long it takes to get the rental car, leave the airport, and fight possible traffic.

He'll need to stop at the gate to get his parking pass. In my experience, you can't use your band to open the gate until you've used it to open your room door.

That timeframe seems a little tight. He'll need to play it by ear.

I believe, but am not certain, that they'll need his band in order to prioritize his tickets. They needed everyone's band when they prioritized mine, but that might have been related to our new annual passes. Does he have a band from the previous trip? You could always take his old one with you.

When we stayed recently at the YC, we did not get a parking pass as our Magic bands had the access to the parking area already.
I would say that since you are checking in ahead of him, his Magic band will be sufficient to open the gate to park without stopping at guard gate.

It is going to be a tight squeeze getting from MCO to the hotel to EPCOT in a 2 and half hour window of time. Is there a way of changing the reservation to a bit later or another day? If not, follow the suggestion below about taking the 417 toll road.

I did not see a day of the week when you are arriving, but 5:15 plane arrival, getting a rental car and getting onto the 528 and then I 4 is going to be a traffic nightmare, especially if you happen to be travelling on a Friday.

I would suggest taking the rental car out the back way of MCO and getting on the 417 Southbound which will land him right onto property if he takes the International drive exit off of 417. Once he gets to DTD exit, take the one that leads to PO and it will be much quicker than the 528 to I 4 to DTD exit in evening traffic. Really anytime on I4 is a nightmare, but especially during rush hours of 4-7 PM. And the DTD exit he would naturally go to will take him right thru the construction madness that is happening. Best to bypass all that stuff.
