old DD :( Ever since DH and I removed the A/C out of DD's room (about 3 weeks ago) DD has not been sleeping at all. We have not taken the A/C out of our room yet and she sleeps fine in there......which means, every night for the past 3 weeks, she has slept in our bed :( We even purchased a sound machine that simulates white noise thinking that would help her in her own room, but it doesn't. We don't know if it's the actual noise of the A/C that she prefers or if she is just sick of sleeping on a crib mattress? Any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated!

starts the usual timer to see how long until one of my posts falls off the first page

Hmm, maybe it isn't the noise she misses, maybe it is the air moving. I can't stand to sleep in a still, quiet room and we have a fan on all year round. You could try a small fan blowing away from her. That would move the air but not get her chilly. I would try and get her back to her room asap because the longer it takes the harder it is! Good luck!

Have you tried music? Maybe a little cd playing for her (NOT Creed) ;) will help her settle down and fall off to sleep.

Sorry you're having problems. :(

See you in a few weeks, though! :)

LOL Cookie......I guess I need to go upstairs and take the Creed out of the cd player :)

Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks!

I would try a small fan also. Blowing away from her, but moving the air around, and making a little bit of white noise.

If you think she is sick of the cribbie, try taking the mattress and setting it on the floor, and see how she does. Just make sure to gate her room so she can't 'stroll'.

Hi Holly  Long time no talk, girlie. Hey did you know your mom is my DIS CON sponser???? You guys have a small shopping mission for me. (ooops, sorry, slight hijack :o ).

DEB!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D How the heck are ya! Been a long time! I am so glad my Mom is your sponsor, how fun! I can help your look for goodies for you, lol. I will be in MA for Thanksgiving weekend, maybe we can find the time to meet up finally!

I think we are going to try a fan tomorrow and if that doesn't work, we will definitely try the matress on the floor (with GATE!!!!) Thanks guys for your suggestions!

I agree that a fan may solve your problem. Our son has slept with a fan for years and always liked them. Good luck with resolving this.

Ohhhh, my poor little Ali-pooh. I've got it !!! Send her down to Grandma Linda !!!

Actually, the fan sounds like a good idea.

Try the fan. I have one going every night in my 14 month old daughter's room. It circulates the air, plus conceals little noises around the house (like Daddy coughing, or the toilet flushing, big Sis waking up for a drink, etc).

Does the air in your house get really dry in the winter? We use humidifiers in all of the bedrooms, and the sound is very similar to an AC, although everyone is right about the air circulation, maybe that's what she likes. Good luck!!

I was thinking fan also. Me and my oldest ds cannot sleep if we are hot or dont have air blowing on us. Maybe it was a combo of the noise and the cool air.

Thanks everyone! Last night I slept in my 5 yo's bed with my 17 month old DD....NOT FUN- LOL! We are going to get a humidifier today, I think that may be part of the problem as well. We are also going to try to make the crib mattress more soft...maybe she is tired of sleeping on the crib mattress and prefers our bed
