Help! Sizzix or sidekick?

Can anyone explain the difference?
Is it true you Can NOT use all the sizes of Sizzlets on the side kick?
Michael's has big one on sale for $49.99.

Which is the better investment? Thanks!

the sidekick can ONLY use Sizzlets. The Sizzix machine can use the original dies and (with the converter) the Sizzlets. I am about to purchase the Sizzix because you can use both sizes of dies.

The sidekick is only useful if you are ONLY going to use Sizzlets dies. IMO there is no need for the sidekick if you already have the original machine. If I didn't have either, I would still get the original machine.

But just so you are aware, the Sizzix site states a new product coming out this spring I think Long Border dies that can ONLY be used with the sidekick. I think that is why I bought both.....

also the Sidekick is portable - do you go to crops? Other dies from other companies are compatible with it too. The larger thicker dies are Not - so it depends on your useage & what type dies you will be using.

Looking at the site, why wouldn't you be able to use them with the Sizzix? If it is the same thickness, could you not just use the converter?

I am not sure -Maybe You can! I thought I read you only could use the long border dies with the Sidekick (cause of the long cutting pad you will need to use & it wouldn't
work with the larger sizzix.) My LSS doesn't carry Sizzix so I just have to order them in the mail - no salesperson to actually talk to - I guess if I called Sizzix they would be glad to answer the questions...

If anyone hears/reads differently, let us know.
