Help! Should I wait or should I stay?

So my sister is pregnant with her first child. I came down to help her with the baby but at today's Dr. Appt they decided she wasn't due yet until Thursday. They told her they would induce her Tuesday if she hasn't gone into labor yet. I have to go back to work Monday no matter what. Here are my options-

Wait it out and hope the baby comes. Enjoy my time, but I will not have another chance to come back down until Oct.

Go home early, work Thursday and Friday and save those 2 days to take a long weekend sometime when we have a federal holiday.

The bad side is that if I stay she might not have the baby, if I leave she might have the baby.

What would you do?

Oh home is about 12 hours away from her.

I would go home, save the days until you KNOW she has a baby in hand. Babies rarely come when we want them to :lmao:

I'd go home. Are you wanting to be with her as she labors? If so, I might stay and see if you can extend your vacation. If not, chances are when she calls you to say she is going into labor, you will have time to make it down to her and arrive before or shortly after the baby is born.

First baby is more likely to come after the due date than before. I'd guess she won't have the baby until Tuesday when they are planning to induce. Spend the time with your sister while you can have it just be the two of you, then go back down to visit her for the next federal holiday that you can get time off.

That is my vote to.:thumbsup2

You could stay and clean and cook stuff for the freezer?

I decided to go home. I even managed to throw in an afternoon at DTD. I will come back down and give her a date night out
