Can anybody offer me any advice? I've read the posts and articles here, but I'm feeling totally frazzled and overwhelmed.

I am taking a group of students to Disney World in early June. We bought tickets almost a year ago on Delta. There are 12 of us.

Can anybody give me a good, honest indicator of how freaked out I should be at this point? I keep reading some people saying "don't worry, it'll never happen" and I read others that say we're pretty much doomed.

I definately DO NOT have another $4,000 or so in our budget to purchase extra tickets. The parents are tapped out and have really worked and scrimped to be able to afford this for their kids, and there is no way all of them will be come up with extra money for another ticket on such short notice.

We've already purchased park tickets, meal vouchers, and lots of other nonrefundalbe things. We couldn't change our dates, even if it was possible, due to the kids already being committed to band camps, a summer musical, and tons of other stuff.

Does anybody have any advice for me at all? What would you be doing now if you were me? I'm totally panicking now and the thought of telling all these kids that we can't get to Disney and all their money is up in smoke.

We will have to wait and see... :grouphug: And try not to panic...although I think I am a little guilty of that today...breathe...it might all be ok :grouphug:
I have made sure I have a copy of my reciept, Itinerary, and CC statement. ANd I am going to wait and see.

I know how you feel; I'm going to WDW in June with only one child, but it was nerve-racking trying to decide whether or not to buy new tickets on a different airline. I finally bit the bullet and purchased tickets on AA through Dallas. I didn't want to take the chance on waiting. I'm not sure where you are located in AR, I'm in northwest AR; friends of mine just drove to Orlando from Bentonville and it took them about 18 hours. Not sure if that is an option for you. I hope everything works out for you.

No one really knows. However, a few things to consider

I personally don't think a strike will happen, but it might.

If it does I have read several "rumors" that NWA is ready and willing to step in and GRAB the routes, planes etc. There is an outside chance that NWA will honor those tickets it can if that happens and since you would after the first wave you would be in good shape. I think the hardest hit group would be those going a few days after. The other airlines have in the past, stepped up with some "deals" in the past to help flyers affected and IF they pick up the routes and planes I would expect the same.

(And then I will cry.... Delta financed my college education and lot of wonderful things for my family)

Try to relax. I know it is easier said than done, but there really isn't much you can do right now.

Have a plan of what you may do if it does happen (which I don't think it will) and act if you need to.

I fly Delta one way on May 25... I am not worried.
