We will be renting a car at MCO. Right now we are going with Hertz. I have been watching this board and it seems like a lot of people use National or Dollar. Is there some advantage to using these? Also we have a Hertz Gold card and our car is supposed to be waiting for us with the car seat in it when we get there. There is supposed to be a special line for card holders that is faster as well. I hope this is true. Does anyone know if this is true? Any help would be appreciated as we can still make changes. :)

I would stick with what you have booked. Hertz, as you already know, is a good company.

Enjoy your trip.

If you like Hertz, go for it.
The advantage of National and Dollar is that they are onsite (as are Alamo and Avis, which I've used via Priceline and been pretty happy with). But we did get Hertz on Priceline once, and I was impressed that their bus was right there waiting. We were at their office within minutes, and they even gave us a great free upgrade. Onsite will always be my preference, but if the price is right at Hertz, I would use them again.

For me, in all the times I have rented, I have found the best deals with either National or Dollar. I also really prefer the onsite location and the ability (in National's case) to go out to an aisle and pick my own car. When I have a choice and considering price, National is my favorite.

That being said, if Hertz had the best price I would probably consider them. Hertz has a good reputation. There are number of regulars here who love and prefer Hertz. If you got a good deal on Hertz and don't mind taking a tram to the lot then you will be fine.

You will love your Hertz experience. When you get on the bus the driver will take your name so your car will be waiting when you get to the lot.

I have never waited more than a minute or two for the shuttle to pull out. They also help load your suitcases on the bus.

When you get to the lot which is a short drive away just look at the board and you can walk to your car. They drop you at the Gold Center so you don't have far to walk.

I am usually driving away from the Hertz lot in less than 10 mins after I boarded the shuttle. No waiting in lines. It is great. We used to use National but found Hertz to be faster even though it is offsite.

Thank you all for the help. I think we will stick with Hertz and see how it works this first time. I can't beleive it is so close! :sunny:
