Greetings all! I'm a newbie to this section of the DISboards and I've been trying to read through all of the information. I've even visited the SeaWorld website, but now I"m just overwhelmed. Could someone answer a few general questions please? TIA

Is there a planning video/info packet you can request from SeaWorld, like WDW?

Did I read correctly that you can go one day, and then return the next day for free? Does it have to be the very next day, or can it be a few days later?

Discovery Cove tickets include admission to SeaWorld? Is that correct? Is it just for a day, or do I keep reading something about 7 days?

I"ve been as a child, but hope to take my DH, DD11, and DS8 next spring bread while we visit WDW. How much time do you need to "do" SeaWorld these days?

We have SW Rapid Rewards and are AAA members...is SW the best deal? What about the free next day? Discovery Cove?

THANKS so much for all of the help I know I'll receive!!!!

Discovery Cove gives you 7 day admission to SW
I think the best price for just SW is Southwest discount... no discount on DC pkg with that. AAA can give you a small discount at discovery cove, I think maybe 10%. Hope this helps.

Southwest is the best discount and SeaWorld only allows ONE discount per ticket (I already asked about combining discounts).

And yes, buy one day ----> get ONE DAY FREE!!
I did the math on it: a family of 4 can get into Disney for around $230 for one day (and one day only).... at SW a family of 4 can get in for $183 (w/southwest discount) for TWO DAYS. That's around $91 a day vs $230 a day at Disney. I know they're "different" parks... but I'm a numbers person and my kids love sea animals!! So we're doing the MK one day (yes, just ONE day) then we're going to take 2 leisurely days to do SeaWorld.

HTH...

Thanks for all of the info. I'm guessing we won't be able to afford DC any time in the near future, so as an alternative, can anyone tell me what kind of interactions you can have at SW with dolphins, etc. Can you pet them, or only at special meals, etc? Thanks! :wave2:

There are designated feeding times, and you can purchase a cup of fish, which you will be able to hand feed to the dolphins. I've been told you want to be sure to get there before feeding time, as they only sell a limited amount for park guests to feed to the dolphins. I'm not sure of the cost, around $4.00/cup I think.

Does that mean you can touch the dolphin and have your photo taken with them?!? Kind of DC in very minute form?! :teeth:

They have photographers on the other side of the dolphin pool that will snap pictures of you (and hundreds of others) feeding the dolphins. They'll radio over to another staff member on your side of the pool that will give you a "ticket" so you can view your pictures on nearby monitors and purchase any you'd like for the low, low price of... I can't remember.

The pictures are not posed at all, you may get a good one, you may not. We didn't, in fact, my brother stayed on the other side of the pool and got much better pictures of us feeding the dolphins than the SW staff did.

If you have food, you should be able to pet one of the dolphins, but they know how to "play the game" and try to get fish from you without being touched. Don't expect it to be a mini-Discovery Cove. Our kids loved feeding the dolphins, but it wasn't a great "interaction".
