Hello,
My husband and I have arranged child care for one night (CAN'T WAIT) when we are at Disney and are very excited to have a night out. Where can we go that takes the dining plan that is a romantic restaraunt with great food on the MYW dining plan? I have booked LeCellier currently but am open to suggestions. Give me reasons please. . .favorite dishes, deserts (we're big desert people), atmosphere, etc. THANK YOU!!!
Lesley

We ate a dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe (one table service meal on plan). It would definately make a great romantic setting! And ending with fondue coud be - um - FUN! There were very delicious choices, the staff and atmosphere were wonderful. I highly recommend it. We got the fondue as a dessert on the plan even though they weren't sure it would go through. So, ask them to try putting it through (it will go through).

Enjoy!

Nora

Sounds good, what is the atmosphere like? I love the fondue option : )

Anyone else??

My vote is for California Grill! Don't get me wrong, the food is wonderful, but when they turn down the lights and pipe in the music for the MK fireworks...the romance can begin!! :love2:

Though not an 'upscale' restsurant, I vote for a table by the water at San Angel Inn.

Thanks! So, for those of you suggesting other places have you been to LeCellier and these beat LeCellier out, or is that just your choice/suggestion on it's own?

It was very ritzy. Very old southern plantation, victorian, gorgeous. Just a nice relaxing place even with our 2 year old being there. LOL.

How about the Castle in the MK, it is a wonderful atmosphere. We have never eaten at La Cellier, so I am of little help there. We are going to the Yachtsman for our 15th anniversary in August and for our adults night out in December we are going to Narcoissee. Artist's Point at the WL is lovely, too.
Thanks for the tip, Nora, we have never tried the Grand Floridian Cafe, I will have to add it to my ever growing list of places to try! :teeth:

Don't get me wrong, I love Le Cellier, but I have to vote for either CA Grill or Citricos at the GF. Both have great food and a romantic atmosphere.

What is the atmosphere like at CAlifornia Grill?

Based on the info in your post, you seem to be staying at WL. If so, have you seriously considered Artist Point? It is very romantic and one of the quietest restaurants we have visited. The food is superb and is matched by a wonderful wait staff and very good wine list for that special bottle. And many people swear by the berry cobbler signature dessert. After the meal, you can stroll around by the geyser, the smaller, quieter pool, the docks, catch the electric water pageant, and even walk down the nature trail toward Ft Wilderness. Best of all, no worries about transportation to another resort or a park. My DW and I have been there twice, and the last time left our DD4 at the Cub's Den, and have truly enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend AP. :earsboy:

I think Citricos or Artist Point are going to be the most romantic. While I love the California Grill, it is a huge.... restaurant and gets loud and crowded. Jiko hasn't been mentioned and I think it is very worthy of consideration.

Thank you! My husband gets back in town tonight and I'll have him look over the menu's on allears of the restaraunts suggested and make his pick. thanks so much for all of the help, can't wait for this night to get here!

DH, and I ate at Narcoosees, while the kids were at Neverland club. Worked out great, since both on the monarail. We had the perfect table to view the fireworks, until a horrible storm came. The lightning was very pretty, off of the water though.

Have a great trip.

I second that emotion! And get a bottle of the "erotic wine". I don`t know why I put that in quotes because thats what it`s called! VERRY nice time, great steaks and some amazing lobster ravioli, overall a great place.

The last time I was at Cali Grill they stopped turning down the lights for the fireworks . I still love it though. Nothing can beat its atmosphere. The view is breathtaking, and watching the fireworks from 15 floors up is an experience all on it's own. Cali Grill is defintely my top choice.

Also check out Narcossees. It's dim lit (but not too dark) and has a nice view of the lake and fireworks.
