Help! My beautiful bride of 20 years ,as of June 1st, and I are going to WDW at the end of Sept. to celebrate and I need any and all suggestions for romantic things to do while we are there . I really want to make this an unforgettable trip for her for all the years she has put up with me and loved me like no one else could . So please, give me your best suggestions so I can romance her like a young man in love courting his one and only love (which couldn't be more true, except for the young part) !

Thanks in advance !

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! :flower3:
It would help to know where you are staying. If you haven't decided yet, I would suggest a savannah room at the AKL, a Crescent Lake view at the Boardwalk, Beach Club or Yacht Club or a water view at the Poly.

If you like champagne, many of the resorts sell a wonderful bubbly called Iron Horse Fairy Tale sparkling wine. You can often find it chilled. It's under $30 a bottle and was created especially for the millenium celebration at WDW. If you stash a couple of inexpensive champagne flutes in your luggage, you could surprize her with it some evening, to be enjoyed on your balcony.

Illuminations is incredibly romantic, especially viewed from a patio table at the Rose and Crown in the UK at Epcot. Tough to get a reservation for that time and even tougher to score the patio table, but worth the try.

After Illuminations, wait for the crowd to subside a little and then walk the opposite way from the crowd. Take a lovely stroll around the World Showcase lagoon with practically nobody else around! Perfect for pictures! Ask a CM to take a pic of the two of you on the far side of the lagoon, across from Italy, with Spaceship Earth in the background.

Speaking of pictures, don't be shy, ask people to take pics of the two of you together. People are always so nice about that!

I know I will think of more later. :sunny:

There are a ton of romatic things to do... some being very pricy though. My suggestion for most romantic (and also most expensive) would be the Grand One Yacht at the Grand Floridian for a wishes fireworks cruise or dinner at Victoria and Albert's chefs table. Other things to do are wishes or illuminations cruises, horse and carriage ride at Port Orleans RIverside or Ft. Wilderness, couples massages at the Grand Floridian, afternoon tea at the GF at the Garden View Lounge and order a custom cake or cinderella slipper dessert from the GF Bakery, romantic retaurants, Cirque Du Soleil.... and the list goes on and on. Let me know if you have questions about specifics.

For our 20th anniversary, I took a copy of our original vows, changed a few words slightly to suit us now, and then we exchanged them at our favorite place in Disney World. We did invite our family and friends but you could just do it yourselves. It wasn't a ceremony but a very private thing.

Romantic or special things to make the trip more magical......

A carriage ride at FW at dusk, it's only about $35 plus a tip for the driver. It was one of my favorite memories from our September 2002 trip.

Take her to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. Even though you might feel like a bull in a china shop just thinking about the idea, trust me, she will feel like a lady worthy of being spoiled. I was terrified of the experience when we went the first time, but it was really special. You can even pre-arrange to have the Cinderella's Slipper desert presented to her at the end of the meal. You could even have a special piece of jewelry presented with it.....if you are going to do something like that too.

Take an evening swim together. I know it sounds horribly simple, but it's a great way to relax at the end of the day.

Order in room service.....consider pre-arranging to have Champagne and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries delivered to the room for a romantic night in the room.

If she loves to be pampered, book her a day at the Spa at the GF. I can think of no more wonderful way to make the world go away......heck, book the Spa for the both of you. ;)

Walk hand in hand through the parks at night....Epcot and MK are two of my favorites for this.

Don't be afraid to be a kid. There is something really endearing about seeing the inner child of your significant other come out to play.

Get in touch with Gifts of a Lifetime and see what they can suggest to make the vacation even more memorable. For a fee, they can certainly help to arrange an event that will be a highlight of your trip.

These are just a few ideas. Have a blast! Maggie
