I am sitting here struggling and getting nowhere so in the hope someone might have a clue!....

We are due to meet up with some friends bafore Christmas for a meal and we have decided to try and minimise the travelling for everyone this year by meeting half way.

We are in Coventry and they are in Guildford and Twickenham. I was looking round High Wycombe/Bicester area as I thought that would be convenient but as I don't know the area and its restaurants I'm stuck!

We are looking for a restaurant to give us and the kids a nice lunch and if it had any sort of play area that would be a bonus!

Any help or insight to the area appreciated

Thanks

What sort of dining are you after?

There a some amazing restaurants in this area.

Bray is not far from High Wycombe, then you have The Fat Duck, The Waterside Inn and The Hinds Head Hotel.

Is Reading too much out of the way? If not I have a lot of suggestions as that is where I live.

I know a really nice Italian restaurant just off the A34 between Oxford and Bicester. If you give some more details of what you are after we might be able to give more recommendations.

Hi i live near High Wycombe, there is a TGI's very close to the M40 roundabout, but we prefer either Marlow or Beaconsfield, there are alot of great restaurants in Marlow and a fantastic park and you could go for a walk along the Thames after lunch! let me know if you want any more help!

Thanks Guys.

I think the main thing is that is family friendly - there will be 4 kids (kids range from 2 to 5 years old.) and 6 adults. I would say that a good variety on the menu would be most helpful and not hugely expensive.

Marlow, Oxford and Reading would all be possibilities in terms of location.

I had forgotten about that TGI's - it might be a possibility too

Thanks so far

Hi Jo,

The Three horseshoes in Marlow bottom is quite family friendly, not in the town it's self but on the back road between Wycombe and Marlow, we have taken Ben there a few times and he's 3 if that helps, the food is general pub grub, good value for money type of thing, and the pub is linked to the rebellion local brewery.
