We currently have ressies at CBR for $160/night incl tax. I called today and got POR for $131.night incl tax for 9 of our 11 nights. The other 2 nights we can move to POFQ for the same price. Is it worth it for appx $300 savings to stay at POR/POFQ? We really like the tropical theme at CBR (even though we've never stayed anywhere on site at WDW). I only have a hold until 11pm EST tonight so I need to make a decision asap.

I think it would be worth it, the level of resort is the same (moderate) but you are saveing a pretty good chunk of money. Not to mention the POR and POFQ usally get better reviews from people.

I have never stayed at either one so i can not say from personal experience. BUT..... I have friends who have stayed at the CBR and have not liked it as much as they thought they would. I hear lots of good comments re: POR and PORFQ.
If it were me I would stay at one of those.

I have stayed at all three. My rank in order is this from favorite to not so favorite. #1 Fav Moderate POFQ (small size, less walking, great theme) #2 Fav Moderate POR (options for rooms, bikes, DTD) #3 Fav Moderate CBR (Huge, so-so theme, pool is good)

Of course you have the DTD with POFQ, but the reasons listed are IMHO!

The rates you listed for the moderate resorts sound high.

Try the following and see what you get. You are in the regular season so with this code it should be about $94 per night before taxes.

October-December Discount Code
For check-ins 9/30/04-12/25/04: ask for Code BAT and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts. These discounts are supposedly not available for check-ins 11/10/04-11/13/04 and 11/23/04-11/27/04, but a few people have reported getting the discounts during those periods. Rates will vary by season. Some sample rates:
· Value Resorts (All Stars and Pop Century) - $55 standard, Value season; $74 standard, Regular season
· Moderate Resorts - $85 standard, Value season; $94 standard, Regular season
· Wilderness Lodge - $149 courtyard view, Value season
· Ft. Wilderness Cabins - $169, Regular season
· Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club - $209 standard, Value season; $229 standard, Regular season
· Grand Floridian - $259 garden view, Value season; $284 garden view, Regular season
· Other resorts, room types and views are available at varying prices!
You must make your reservations by 10/10/04.

BTW - If you have an AP the rates could be even lower.

I know the rates seem high to me too but that is what she quoted using BAT. It's very frustrating to see everyone getting really great rates and then see what we got!

If you go to book on line right now the rate for CBR and POFQ (POR is not available) is only $94. Why don't you try booking on line on the Disney website?

CBR is a beautiful resort and you feel like you have escaped to the islands.

It basically comes down to the theming.

There are many fans of CBR.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

They might have given you that rate due to all of the discounted rooms being booked. With that code you have till 10/10 to book so I would keep trying back and asking for any of the mods if that is the category you want.

I had to try a few times to get a ressie changed from Pop to POFQ for this December but I finally got it using the AP code.

There are many fans of all three resorts... with good reason. This would be a lateral move (Moderate to Moderate), therefore I would take the savings and stay at the POR/POFQ locations.

With that being said, it would be an easy decision for me because POR is my favorite moderate resort.

I do like the idea of trying to secure a better rate for your entire stay online through Disney.

Good Luck!::yes::

FINALLY!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc I've finally got someone at WD Travel that knows something! The reason I haven't been getting anything on the BAT code is because it is a 10 nite maximum stay and we are staying 11. Every time I've called it would automatically come up not available. I just got 9 nights at CBR for $93/night including tax and 2 nights at POFQ for $93.50. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. We just saved $736.16 :earseek:

Wonderful for you!!! These boards helped us save so much money this past July so we are always glad to help anyone else out. I knew those rates sounded fishy!!!

We have never stayed at POFQ, but CBR was our first onsite stay and it got us hooked. We had the best time and had no complaints about this wonderful resort. I think you can't go wrong either way.::MinnieMo

Congratulations on your rates!! I find I always have to call a few times until I find the right CM to help me. Have a great time and enjoy your extra $$!!

If you could post when you get back and tell us all which you liked better and why, it would help others decide.
I have stayed at POFQ, but not CBR(always booked, but changed everytime)so I would be interested in how they compare.

I definitely will give a report on each resort. Thank you all so much for giving me the info and pushing me into action on the $$$!
