Hi, could anyone advise me please?

I’m just about to book our 2007 holiday, we went to the Contemporary this year (really loved it) and are off to the Poly next year. Finances are cut a bit this year, so for a two week stay are choices for 2007 are:
Port Orleans
Caribbean Beach Resort
Coronado Springs Resort

We don’t drive, so will be relying on the Disney transport - which was fabulous from the Contemporary. DS is will be 7, he loves to swim, so a good pool is a must. Hubby and I like a drink (we’re from Scotland you see!) and so would appreciate any advice on nice evening places to go and the reliability of the transport at night.

We planning on going at Easter.

Thanks in advance to all you knowledgeable people out there!

CBR is a great place to stay at WDW. You truly feel like you have escaped to the islands when staying there.

You might want to take a look at the FAQ's listed below for more information. I also have lots of pictures of the resort along with a map of the villages.

Welcome to the DIS.

POR - port orlean riverside.

several pools - the main one has a slide - here is also the only hot tub at the main pool.

it has a lounge. I think with entertainment Wed-Sun.

there is also a pool bar at the main pool.

very nice playground.

one of the best arcades (only the Cont is better) around.

has a boat to DD/PI.

Welcome to the DIS. I am sure you will find lots of help here.
I have stayed at both CBR and POFQ but not CSR. I personally did not care a great deal for the CBR, but I loved POFQ. I loved the size of the resort (Smaller than the other 2), the theming, the pool area and the food court. On most of our trips we have stayed at either deluxe or home away from home, so I was a bit worried before we went to POFQ. I would go back again in a minute. We found the transportation to be good at POFQ, there is even a boat to DTD for an evening there. You can also share all of the facilities of the sister resort - POR adding a nice lounge with evening entertainment and a sit down restaurant to the mix.
Good Luck with your decision.

Welcome...and you've definitely found the right place to have all your questions answered!

I would highly recommend CBR for your family. We were there in April and I couldn't have been more pleased with the transportation. The pool is great - and pool bar is very nice as well. How I wish I were back there right now!!!

I've stayed at all three and POR would get my vote 1st, CBR - 2nd and CSR - third.

Having said that though, they are all nice resorts so I would pick one based on where you would like to be. Do you want to go to the Caribbean (CBR) or Mexico (CSR) or would a more peaceful place with beautiful grounds, a long winding river and elegant old buildings be more to your liking (POR)?

Good luck!

P.S. POFQ is my personal fav!!! :flower:

Me too!!!

Many thanks for all your replies, very helpful.

We've now done a few more cost calculations, and it looks like the Swan and Dolphin now creep into the options too - the location looks wonderful, but I do like charging everything to the room......

Any thoughts folks?

Sorry to be so vague but basically I think ALL the Disney hotels look fabulous so we are just spoilt for choice! Its great! :cool1:
