Help - Rental Car Payment?????

I have rented a car through Alamo for our trip on Saturday. I just went to do online check in using our debit card (which is allowed per Alamo). It would not go through and come to find out, our credit union will not allow you to rent cars with their debit card.

Help! We don't have credit cards. Has anyone rented with cash? We used the walmart code for the additional free driver. Looks like you can't have a 2nd driver with cash payment. I am so annoyed at the credit union...they really could not give me a good reason for their policy.

Any suggestions.

Could you go to the credit union and get a credit card asap just for this expense? I think you would have problems using cash for a rental car because of possible damages to the car. They want insurance that they can charge you if there are any problems. Maybe a relative could prepay for you using their credit card and you can pay them back? Hope it works out.
