I had my really nice diabetes meter with me at work, and some kind of adhesive from the elastic band in my meter case has melted onto my screen! It left behind a layer so thick I cannot read the screen at all (rendering my meter useless.) This would normally not be a problem since most companies will send you a free meter if you ask, but this is a nice one and I'm scared they won't and I don't have the money to replace it.

I am trying Goo Gone, but I am on my third application and it does not seem to be helping. Does anybody know of something esle that I can use to safely remove the adhesive from my screen? I want to exhaust all options before I call the company. Thanks!

Sometimes rubbing alcohol will dissolve an adhesive. Other than that, a computer shop or Lowes might could suggest a stronger product that wouldn't damage the screen. But I believe I would call the company and ask before buying other products.

I am trying to remember what I used to clean up some goop left over from a major sticker on a ds- ooooH I think it was goo be gone? I got it at Walmart. I was desperate and figured it was worth a shot. I am not sure it would be safe for your device but it's worth a shot.
OK DuH I just see you used that and it didn't work. What I did was soak a washcloth in it- then leave the washcloth on top of the area for like 5 minutes- then rubbed it with the washcloth and it all came off.

Have you tried packing or duct tape? Stick it to the sticky stuff and pull....each time should take off a little more sticky stuff...that's how I get price tag/information sticker residue off things sometimes.

Thanks for the tips! After the third application of Goo Gone (which by the way, will irritate your skin) I called the company. This company is not known as much for the guest service as some of the others, but they said they would replace the meter for free even though it wasn't even their case. They have definitely redeemed themselves after my last bad experience with them!

for future reference-there's a product you can get from pharmacies that's like a wet-nap but it's made for removing adhesive. it's made for skin but it works on most everything. it was developed for people who use medication delivered by adhesive patches (like my son). it's freaking amazing.
