Hopefully things will change before we arrive, but I am just trying to figure things out beforehand if possible.

DD is in a walking boot currently, The earliest she will get out of it will be three weeks before we arrive. There is still a chance she will still have it. She has a bone infection in her leg. Anyways, I was wondering about getting her a wheelchair. Since she is able to walk with the boot (but not the distances she would be doing at Disney), can we park the wheelchair instead of riding in the wheelchair for the rides? Even if the boot is off I am not sure she can handle that much walking. Then will CM's think that we are just using it to take advantage of Disney. There are nine of us in the family that will be riding most rides together.

Thanks for any help.

Absolutely you can use a wheelchair for her! The wheelchair can be parked with strollers if you so choose, or taken through the lines which will allow her a place to sit and stay off the foot if she us tired. She would be encouraged to transfer to the ride vehicle whenever possible.

With a wheelchair and mobility need, she won't qualify for the DAS so no worries about "taking advantage" (which you aren't) or number in your party,

Enjoy your vacation!

based on me and my weak knee, I would let her take wheelchair thru the lines so she has a way to rest her leg and foot. her ankle will be weak and standing can bother her. yes she can transfer to any ride from her chair at the loading area. her chair will be moved if needed for her to disembark. Peter Pan and the People Mover will be hard for her as moving walkways can not be slowed down. in EPCOT Spaceship Earth could be problem because of group size at wheelchair load area, based on my trips

You don't say how old she is, but if she's not an adult (or is a small adult), you may want to see about renting a smaller wheelchair from an offsite vendor. The wheelchairs at the parks are at least 18" wide (the one time I ended up using one was when something broke on my personal wheelchair and I'm fairly certain it was wider than 18" because I was swimming in it and my personal chair is 18").

Most rides she would have to transfer to a ride vehicle anyway so it's not a problem at all for her to do so. Please be advised that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (PeopleMover) does not have a wheelchair accessible queue. If she can stand long enough to use the moving walkway (it's on an angle and that's the only way to access the ride which is why it's not wheelchair accessible), she could use TTA that way. Peter Pan can be accessed, however, she must be able to transfer with the moving walkway and ride moving at their normal speeds. You may want to consider whether those rides are worth it. Otherwise the only other attractions that she really can't access are Tom Sawyer Island and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. She could get to the Island, but not really get anywhere on it.
