Help! Question about the $99 two-park deal

Hey everyone, please don't bite my head off, I don't know if this is the right place to post, but I don't know where else to ask--

I have a friend driving down from up north and we want to do the 2-day, 2-park deal. Since he's not a SoCal resident, can I get the tickets from a Vons or something, and then use them without having our IDs checked? Or can I buy two tickets under my name since I'm a SoCal resident? Will they check ID regardless, at the gate? Anyone know?

I'm not certain, but I believe a SoCal resident can purchase tickets for a non-SoCal resident and it is fine, especially if your attending with them.

Will they? Maybe, because they can. I've had a CM tell me that I would need mine to enter. But haven't been asked.

I called Disney on this because I had similar questions. I have friends coming from out of state.

According to the CM I spoke with it's totaly acceptable for So Cal residents to buy tickets for people out of state. As said the purchaser must be So Cal.

I would assume you must be present with your guest. I didn't clarify this since I will be attending as well. woohoo The date is getting near.

I'll be doing the same thing. I had my Aunt, who lives in Orange County, purchase tickets for me and my family at Vons (7 tickets total). Several people have said your ID's could be checked at the gate, but I've heard from many people who commonly purchase the tickets at Vons who aren't Southern California residents and their ID's were not checked.

I've done this and you can buy a ticket for someone outside Southern California. As long as you are with them, it isn't a problem.
