Hello all!
I'm very new to forums, so I apologise if this is in the wrong place etc

I'll start off with a very quick introduction: My name is Amy, I'm 19 and I'm from Essex, UK. I'm an absolute Disney fanatic (as are most of you, too) and my dream, although very small, is just to be a general salesperson in Disneyland Paris.

Now to the point. In my town, there's a fairly sized Disney Store that I've been in and out of religiously since I was about 7, maybe younger. I'm in there on a weekly basis, either browsing or adding to my ever growing Disney collection.
After searching for work, it recently hit me: Why not try the Disney Store? And now it's all I can think about.

A couple of weeks ago, I sat and wrote a CV. It was pretty empty - I've never worked before and I was homeschooled until college. The only things I did have on there was my profile, my interests and my grades (all very high, but I'm unsure if that counts). I handed my CV in as soon as it was finished and left it at that.
Because I've never worked before, I don't know when is a normal time to hear back, so after a week, I went back and asked. I spoke to the most loveliest cast member for quite a while and she told me as long as the passion is there, experience (or a lack of) doesn't matter. She then took me to see a man who worked there who looked no older than me and she told him who I was and asked why I may not have heard back yet. He explained that they get a lot of CVs in every day and to come back in exactly a week, and hand it in to him specifically. He was also very lovely and I was very happy! As soon as I got home, I started re-writing the whole thing.
I was so excited just to hand in my CV that I had a very sleepless week. I'd get in to bed at 4am, be about to drop of to sleep and then think about Disney and OOPS I have butterflies in my stomach. Ones that kept me awake and on edge.
I'm never ever this impatient, so something really had come over me.
A week had passed and my CV was ready! I got up early and shot down to the store at 9am. In the middle of the floor was the young man I had spoke to who had asked me to come see him with my CV a week before.
I was happy to see him and I walked up, wished him a very good morning and went to hand him my CV.
I know he must see hundreds upon hundreds of people every day but he looked at me like he'd never seen me before. I let him know who I was and he didn't once smile, say hello or even look at me in the eyes! I was shocked!
I asked him when I should hear back, if I was to get a call. He replied, word for word: "We only have one space left and loads of CVs so I wouldn't get your hopes up."
To hear that after a week of making my CV perfect was heartbreaking but I kept my spirits up and kept smiling. I told him that I am ALWAYS available. No matter what time it is, I'll be there. I'm devoted to this Disney Store because of the magic and nostalgia that comes with being inside it. He just looked everywhere but my eyes or my CV and was just 'mmhmm'-ing me. I felt like I was wasting his time because he seemed to stand very awkwardly like he wanted me to go. So, as I was leaving, I wished him a very magical day and he replied, "Haha, yeah, okay, whatever!"

That was five days ago and I've not slept properly since, so I was just wondering:
When, if I was to hear back, should I expect a call?
Should I hand in a 3rd CV and if so, when?

So sorry for the wall of text, my heart's just aching and my tummy butterflies are frenzied!

Thanks for having me and I wish you all a magical night! x

oh poor you..its tough on the job front at the moment and I expect they do receive a lot of CV's. Have you had a professional company look your CV over to make sure that it really is the best it could be and will stand out over all the others? Also what about finding out the name of the person that will be looking at the CV's and maybe giving them a call to back up your euthusiam over this job? You could always offer a weeks work experience with them so they can see what they would be missing by not employing you! Everybody has to start somewhere on the job front and experience is what you gain not what you start with and the fact you REALLY want to work for Disney might not be coming across in your CV. You really have to have the 'look at me, I would be a fantastic asset for your company' attitude with a CV.
I hope you find your dream job soon.:)

Hi, thank you so much for replying :-)
I really believe that my CV does stand out - I've added Disney magic all over it and it isn't a general one that I could hand in to any shop, not even to any Disney Store for that matter. I wrote it specifically for my local store and spoke mostly about Disney and what I could do for them.
I most probably will call them.
I love the idea of a weeks work experience! To me, it's not about the money at all!

Thanks again :-) x
