Update: Now tracking RSR 'FP gone by hh:mm' - I've just realised that I can use the Lines App to track, so will try to update each day. First time is park opening, 2nd is when FP were gone (approx)

I'm seeking help from those who've been to DCA in the last month or two, or are heading that way in the near future.

At what time did RSR run out of FP when you were there? If you can answer, I'd appreciate a response with the day of the week, and approx time the Fps ran out. I'm especially interested to see if there's any pattern depending on what day of the week it is.

I'm trying to decide if the only way we can ride RSR in December is to be in the FP line at park opening, or if it's possible to do an hour or two in DL, and then head over to DCA and get FP for RSR. The return time doesn't concern me - we're gonna have to do a big afternoon nap to help us adjust to the time zone change, so should be fine for late nights in the park, about 6-8 hours sleep, then back to the parks for opening the next morning.

I'll keep updating this initial post with times in case others are also interested.

Thanks everyone :thumbsup2

A couple of weeks ago, we got in the fastpass line right after opening. By then the line stretched almost to Aladdin. We got around 6:10. I don't think you will be able to spend an hour or two at DL and still get a fastpass.

I would agree. Monday (9/24) and Wednesday (9/26). We got in the fast pass line at opening. Line was to Aladdin on the Wednesday and Disney Junior on Monday. Got our fast passes about 1/2 hour after park opening. Fast passes were w/ return times after 6. Fast passes were gone about an hour after park opening both days.

9/17 got in line 10 mins before DCA opened. Got FP for 1:30-2:30 I met a lady that got in line 5-10 mins after park opened and got one of the last 4 passes.

We got 2 more FP's that week, lining up 45 mins before opening, got FP's with slightly earlier return times.

The whole week we were there the FP's were long gone an hour after park opening and if you were not in line before or VERY shortly after the park opening you did not get one. I think going through the turnstiles after park opening would be cutting it too close!

I was there this past Thursday which was supposed to be a low crowd level day. We entered at park opening and the line went from the fast pass distribution spot all the way back to Tower of Terror. There was a cast member telling the people near the end that there was no guarantee they would get a Fast Pass. My guess is that those fast passes run out within 1/2 hour to hour of park opening.

We received FPs around 9:30 this past Thurs. for a time of 11:35-12:35. A lot of people were in the center rope drop section to because they thought the FP machines were over there and when they realized where the line is; it was too late. It was a huge line.

Where is the fastpass line?

When we were there last week they were always gone really fast. a CM told me that they run out in about an hour

Where is the fastpass line?

I would like to know this as well! And an additional question: is every day an opportunity for DL hotel guests to get in an hour earlier than everyone? The first day we are there, there is no noted early entry, but I'm wondering if there are different benefits for guests staying at a DL hotel?

I've waited in the RSR FP line at least 5 or 6 times in the past couple of months. I don't have exact days and times for you to chart though.

In general I'd say that even on days with longer park hours RSR FP's don't last more than about 2 hours total, and if park hours are shorter, it's closer to an hour. You generally have to be in line well before FP's actually run out in order to get one, so I'd say give up on the early morning at DL plan if you really want a RSR FP.

Just to give you an idea of how quickly they go, on Wed 10/10 we had 12 people in our party. The CM was feeding our tickets into the machine as quickly as possible and our return times ranged from 6:10pm to 6:35pm.

The line for regular park guests without early entry starts near Carthay Circle, but as folks have stated in ths thread, the end of the line could be anywhere from right there near the corner all the way down to Tower of Terror.

On a non-EMH, what is the best plan to get a RSR FP? How early should we be at the gates? Is there a certain gate that is better to line up at? And should our FP runner go straight to Carthay Circle Restaurant? Do they walk them from there to the FP machines? I'm sorry if these questions seem stupid, but it's DS's first time over 40in and our first time since the walls came down, so I'm trying to get a layout/plan in my head of where we should go. The plan is for DH to get in the FP line and I'll take the kids to Carsland to ride one of the other two rides.

Now that they are alternating early entry for the resort guests, you should go to California Adventure on a NON early entry day, and have one person get FP for RSR while the rest of your party either rides RSR standby (single rider, ideally) or rides the other Carsland rides.

The FP distribution seems to last about 60-90 minutes after park opening. On the early entry days, many resort guests get in the FP line before the park opens, that is why I said to go on a non EE day if possible.

The FP line starts at Carthay Circle and goes down Hollywood. A CM will hold up a sign saying where the line starts. I thought I was close to the front since I was standing by Carthay Circle, but there was still many people in front of me...not sure if onsite hotel guests have their own line. I still received a FP for RSR, so all was good.

As to how soon to be at the gate, I was there an hour before they let people in the gates and was not first...so 90 minutes is a sfe bet especially if you want to ride it.

I won't say getting there that early is never necessary, but most days I think as long as you're in the park at or close to opening you're probably OK.

On Wed we didn't come through the DCA gates until about 5 minutes after the park opened. Yes, I had to trek all the way down across from ToT to get in line, but we still got our FP's. I waited in that line about 40 minutes.

I have to say, is it really worth waiting in a 40 minute line to get FP and still have to come back later when the standby line Is 70-80 minutes and the Single Rider is 25??

We do sometimes utilize the SR line, but I also really enjoy riding in the same car with my family, so waiting to get a FP is worth it to me... it may not be to everyone.

BTW, it can depend on the make-up of your group as well. If you have under 7's with you (we did that day) SR isn't an option. You can't always count on the SR line being open either. They do close it down when it gets too long. Yes, if the ride is up and running you can wait around for it to re-open, or keep checking back, but you may end up wasting more time doing that than if you had gotten FP's. Plus, only one member of your group has to wait to get FP's, everyone else can be off doing other things.

Bottom line, yep it's usually worth it to me, and I'm almost always the one waiting in line to get the FP's.

Is the SR line open all the time?

I'm staying at a Disney Resort so will be able to use early entry on certain days and I wondered if the single rider line would be open during the early entry period?

December everyday fp will be gone by 11am. If u want to get one u need to be there no later than 10 am to play it safe, same with world of color. Saturdays and Sundays expect them to be gone by 10 am

I was there 3 weeks ago, we did both single rider & fastpass. We did early opening one day, we were able to ride RSR twice in single rider with no wait, Luigis and Maters before regular opening. Other times single rider was no more than 30 minutes.

That'll be us too, given DH can't join us in DL, my DDs and I would like to ride together. I have a feeling it'll be me waiting in the FP line too ;) The good thing is, from what I can see FP's seem to be running out within 2 hours of the park opening, which means my idea of doing some of the Fantasyland slow loaders and grabbing a FP in DL before heading over to DCA just before park opening to join the RSR FP que may well work, (on the days DCA opens after DL). I'll keep tracking times FPs run out in the meantime - every bit of info helps. I just hope the Lines App is accurate for what time RSR FP's are all gone.
