Hi all,

Please help us to plan our 1st trip to Disneyland.
Our cast :DH, me, DS (5) and DD (1.5)

We'll flight to LAX on Saturday November 17 and go back on Saturday November 24.

We'll buy CityPass. So my question is what should do we first?

- Should we drive to San Diego first for 2 days for Sea World and Zoo? then come back to DSL for 3 days and 1 day for Universal?

- or Should we do DSL and Univeral first and then go to SanDiego?

- Do they have anything in Univeral for 5 yrs boy and 1.5 girl?

- Any character breakfast is good for my 2 kids?

- Any good hotels that close by so we can go back for nap during the day?

- Anythings else that I need to know....

I'm so exited

Thanks so much .....................

I would do DLR Mon-Wed. That would leave Thurs-Fri for SD, and the first Sunday for USH.

USH may be too much for kids your age. Others here can add their two cents.

Welcome to the Dis, Julie. :welcome:

- First Go to HydroGuy's Sticky & Mary Jo's Sticky at the top of the DL page & read all the threads. LOTS of INFO that you'll need.

- Second isn't Thanksgiving on Thursday?

- Hopefully Dis'ers can give you direction on what days to stay where, but securing lodging is the first thing to do.

- Since you want to do an afternoon nap (a good idea) you'll want to stay at a DL hotel or on Harbor Blvd. (a short walk) if you can get a room.

- With your group, I recommend at least 3 days at DLR (or 4). If you can get one of those "Getaway Vacations" tickets, you will get 2 days of EE. Which i bet will be very handy your busy week.

That's a start, Have Fun at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

-Nov 17 is the second day of kickoff to the Christmas season. Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th will be very busy with Christmas stuff and locals using the park.

I would go down the coast and do Seaworld and the zoo. Stop at Legoland. There is nothing for your kids at Universal for those ages don't even waste your time or money.

With kids that young stay onsite if possible. Go to the Disneyland website for more hotel info. I believe your kids would enjoy the Disneyland hotel the most as it has the most Disney themeing and you can take the monorail to the hotel. Goofy's Kitchen is super for young ones. We are also doing Chip and Dale's Storyteller breakfast at the Grand Californian when we go in November.

The Unofficial guide to DL is good as of course the DIS.
Hydroguy has a sticky at the top of the forum with great travel tips for DL.HTH (hope that helps).

Get there early
use fastpass and have fun!

Thank you, thank you .......

We'll try to go to San Diego first on Sun and Monday. Then spend the rest at DisneyLand.

Please let me know if I need anything else.........

Thanks again

Dis'ers....What will DLR crowds be like Thurs - Sat of Thanksgiving? Is the OP correct in spending their time there on those days?

Seems to me that Mon - Thurs @ DLR would be best then spend the holiday elsewhere. (& would rooms even be available Wed - Sat?)

You have a good point. With Thanksgiving on the 22nd and Christmas starting on the 16th, what is the lesser of two? I always try and avoid the park on weekends no matter what but you have a very good point. Unless they have a room already they may have trouble securing one at this point.

You are right. I couldn't find any hotel available that week and the air tickets are crazy .

We didn't know that week is so busy. I should check this board early. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Now we're thinking to move this trip to the following week (end of November) or first week of December.

Which week that you think will be better and we have more chances for hotels?

I also see code/coupon for hotel resort in Dis board. Is that only for WDW? Do we have anything similar in DLN? We would like to have 2 rooms.

We really want to go to DLN, please let me know that we have more chances with the hotel/resort at the end of Nov or early Dec.

Thanks

You should have no problems the last week of November/first of Dec. Dec 1-2 will have larger crowds for the annual Candlelight Processional, Christmas program. Dec 3-4 Disneyland will close at 6pm for the cast member Christmas parties, however California Adventure will be open late these nights.
