Help Please

I am so upset. just got an email today from the owners of the vacation home that we rented. They said that they sold their vacation home. They also said that the new owners will honor our reservations and the price that we agreed upon. He said he would be forwarding our security deposit to the new owner and the new owner will contact me after the closing dat (nov. 12th). What should I do (if anything). Do you think that the new owner will change anything? Does furniture get sold with the house? Thanks

This happens all the time. I own several rental properties (not VACA homes) and we buy and sell homes and tenants alike. Chances are the new owners will contact you and introduce themselves. Go ahead and e-mail them to confirm dates and that the deposit got transfered. (That would have been done by the atty. at closing) Accidents happens and paperwork gets lost, so do it just for your peace of mind. Sometimes they do upgrade the furniture, let them know that you booked this house because of the accomodations. They may replace 2 twins with 1 queen, etc.
Chances are things won't change that quickly, but you never know.
