Going to Disneyland for the first time . We are staying at the Disneyland hotel and will be there for 5 nights in July. So tell me anything I need to know. We are traveling with a 7 year old and a 2 year old. We are also flying into LAX and taking the Disney bus so how long will it take for us to get to the hotel?

about what time is your flight arriving? It varies by the hours and by days.

Like Weekends tend to have lesser traffic but is traffic a little longer...
Weekdays could be massively jammed.

Thurs morning around 8:40AM, traffic should be clear and/or not that bad. id estimate maybe 35min - 1hour. But must factor in any inconvience such as accidents and/or road closures...

Tour Books? All i can really think of is AAA California book.

Are you just after the touring plans or a good book about DL? We use Ridemax for the touring plans but a good book is the Unofficial Guide which has touring plans in the back.

Getting in that early (that's when we got in on Monday), just be aware that your room won't be ready until 3 or even 4. So you need to be prepared for that! They'll take your bags at Bell Services (even before you stop in at the front desk), but if you swim you won't have anywhere to change other than bathrooms, etc etc.

And it took about an hour from catching the bus to getting off the bus, and that included all the airport stops (they stop at each terminal).


By the way, if there's ANY way to change that flight, do it. I don't know where you're coming from, but catching our 6am flight from seatac meant getting up at 2:30 to make sure we could park the car, get the shuttle, etc etc, and it was AWFUL. Then you can't even get to the room and we were absolutely wiped out! Took us until Wednesday to really catch our breath.
