Well, I just got a Canon Powershot SD600 Digital Elph--I relly like it. I've been playing around with it,now I need to go buy my REAL SD card--I don't know which one to buy. So anyone with this camera who can give me advice would be great!! Should I get the scandisk 2GB card or Ultra 2 scandisk? Don't know if it will make a difference on a p&s??? Also, will I need another battery for our 9-day DW trip, or will recharging it nightly be good enough? Please help! Thank You!!!!!! :goodvibes

I wouldn't bother with the Ultra unless you plan on doing a lot of video with the camera. The regular 2GB is fine. (I use 1 2GB and 3 1GB regular SD cards for my dSLR).

As for the battery, I would highly recommend taking at least 2 batteries to WDW. Your better off having an extra and not needing it instead of not having an extra and having the only battery crash for some reason or you take enough pictures and look that them enough during the day that the battery dies and you don't have a spare.

Even though I know that my battery can go a full day of picture taking (upwards of 350 shots in one day) on one battery, I just wouldn't feel comfortable not having an extra with me just in case.

You can get a spare battery for $6 off eBay - in fact, you can get one for $6 with a basic cleaning kit (microfiber cloth, etc.) It probably won't run as long as a real one, but should be plenty to tide you over until you can charge up the original. My wife's one's been running on the cheap one for a couple weeks now with no problem (granted, not a lot of use of the camera, but some.)

For an SD card, keep your eyes open for a deal. We're using an Ultra (not Sandisk, but the brand Ultra) 2gb that was $15 after rebate at ZipZoomFly. You can still get them, too, the rebate expires at the end of the year.

There are lots of deals on that kind of thing lately... buy.com has been having a lot of cheap prices (even more so than usual) thanks to the $20 off $50 Google Checkout deal. I just ordered a Kingston 1gb USB drive for free after rebate... I already own that exact one, but for free, I'm sure I can find use for another!

Enjoy the camera, my wife and sister-in-law both like theirs.
