I called member services and said because I have a four and and seven year old I want to be by the big pool - I thought it was Springs- She said yes Springs in great but you may want to consider Grandstand as they have a smaller pool and a water park like area (water sprays up from the ground ) for your kids- Now I dont know what to do!!??? thoughts???:confused3
Please give me your opinion and advice!

I like Grandstand.
The 2 Grandstand pool buildings are essentially the same distance from the main pool and restaurants as Springs. Both the Grandstand and main pools have pool bars with refill stations. I think Grandstand feels more quiet and calm than Springs that is in the center of it all. Grandstand is also the first bus stop (more guaranteed to get on a bus)

On the negative side, there are also 2 "far" Grandstand buildings (other side of Grandstand parking lot) and Grandstand is a bit further walk to DTD (But Grandstand is closer to the SSR to DTD boat dock) I'd also imagine a 7 year old would prefer the main pool's slide over the Grandstand water squirt area. You could go to both for added variety, though.

Remember, no location request is guaranteed. You will not go too wrong if you can get "Grandstand pool" or Springs, though.

I also vote for the Grandstand. We were lucky enough to be in the building closest to the Carriage House and next to the GS pool. The pool in this section is nice and has a water play/spray area which is great for little ones. It was a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the main pool and restaurants - and the walkway is such that you do not have to cross the street (as with the Springs). I agree that if you're in the other GS buildings it adds more distance/time. The Grandstand is still the first bus stop for most bus routes (not for DTD, I don't think) and I believe there's a walking path to the West Side of DTD (though we didn't get a chance to use it).

We usually like CP but this time around I requested CP or Grandstand just because I thought Grandstand was pretty close to the main area and the boat dock.

Well we checked in yesterday and are in Grandstand for the first time (we usually stay in CP). It's really nice here. We're in a studio facing the golf course and the weather is phenomenal today. The bus stop is just steps outside of our room. We can see the buses coming around the back. It's nice being the first bus stop. Seats available when we get on and the first stop to get off coming back!:thumbsup2

The walk to the main area/Carriage House and boat dock is 5 minutes and we're at the end of the bldg by the bus stop! Very convenient. The pool is real nice, just a little nippy right now for us wimpy Floridians LOL! BUT we'd be there now if we were into swimming today! The little poolside bar is MIGHTY convenient. I was sitting out on my balcony sipping my margarita and that was just a JOY! It does feel a little different than being across from DTD but it's a nice change. I'd request this area again in a heartbeat!

I still say some of you are way over-estimating the walk from the near GS buildings to the main area. (5 minutes sounds scary and it is nowhere near that. 5 minutes is what people peg the Congress Park to DTD walk)

If you look at an overhead map, the 2 near GS buildings are the exact same distance from AP as the Springs.

:thumbsup2 THE SPRINGS!

Stayed there on our last 2 SSR visits...the main pool, just across
the street, has a zero entry area...perfect! My godaughter who
was 2 at the time had a ball! I suppose for us it was a matter
of convienence staying at "The Springs."
Wish I could comment on Grand Stand area, alas we've
never stayed there...I'm sure you'll receive posts to help
you and your family out.
Good Luck!
