Hi Ya,
We have 2 Net10 LG300G phone's from Walmart to use whilst in America. They have never been opened, activated etc..all still sealed. The ones that come with the free 300 minutes airtime.
I know a few of you Disser's have these....so....

1,If we activate them here in the UK online the day before we fly+we register them so that we can make international calls back home to the UK-is that all we need to do?.As in when we arrive over there they are ready to use?.

2,Also when we have looked on the website and we click on 'activate' it asks straight away for our details-address,name,zip code etc..it says that you can skip this section-but how important is it?.Should we enter our details-to be honest i don't think we can :confused3 .

Is there anything else i need to know?.
Or are these phones meant to be activated in the likes of Walmart when you buy them?.
Thank you in advanced for your help, much appreciated.x.

I don't have a Net 10 phone but I have just gone onto the website and if you click on "Skip this step" under where it asks for your address then it takes you to a page where you click on your model of phone and then it asks you for the serial number so I don't think you will have any problems.

I don't have these phones but have the tracfone ones which can only be used in the USA. We activated them, via the laptop, over there. It clearly says in our booklet not to be used outside the USA.

Thanks David,we never went that far on the website-'just in case' we done something wrong.I suppose if we open them, charge them, activate them+then find there is something wrong,we still have the receipt from when they were purchased last Sep/Oct+will just pay Walmart a visit.x.

We won't have Laptop over there, thats why we wanted to activate them here, which i know some people who have these phones have done.
These phones can't be used in the UK but once in USA can be used to call home to the UK.Just thought it would be easier to set them up here on the website before we go,then have to try+find/buy internet access+to waste time doing it once we arrive, thanks Bev.x.

I think we could have activated them via a landline (the eldest son did it and picked the laptop because it was easier). The booklet with the phone should be able to tell you how to do it. I know our phones had to be on to receive the activation code and, therefore, be in the USA to receive the activation which is why I thought you may be best doing it whilst in the US (till you said other people have activated it whilst in the UK).

I can add service/minutes to our phones on the net but in order for the phone to be updated have to be in the US to do that with laptop access.

I understand what you mean now :thumbsup2 .
I think we will open just one of the phones and see what it says in the booklet. It's not a huge problem if i can't do it here,it just would have been one more thing out of the way if i could have. Thanks Bev :goodvibes .

I know that i read on here last year that others have activated them online in the UK.
But where are they all?? .I know some on here have these phones :confused3 .x.

Just keep pushing the thread to the top till someone sees it.:goodvibes

The phones are ideal, made a huge difference to me on holiday round the malls, the old purse suffered as a consequence of not having to trail after the menfolk and I was let lose, on my mall dash.

We have never had the need for phones before, but with having 2 girls now-different likes,we will end up splitting up for some rides,so will be much easier to check on each other to meet back up :thumbsup2 .x.

They are definitely handy, we are normally all together except in the Malls. Till I got the phones I used to get quite frustrated waiting for ages outside Hollister for the menfolk as it would have been impossible to find each each in the Malls if we separated. Now it is fine.

They are also handy for our two lads, who as you know are grown up, so if on an evening they want to do MiB, several thousand times in a row, we can nip to the Irish pub in Universal and enjoy a sit down and a nice glass of wine till they have finished.
