We are taking NEWBIES!!!!!!

We usally eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe with Most NEWBIEs we take to WDW.

BUT our NEWBIEs this time and Our own kids are maybe getting a littel too old to enjoy the riding of the stick horse through the restaurant!!!!!

There will be a 9, 12, 13 , 15 year old kids and 4 adults!

Any other suggestions?

We ont be in the parks yet but want to give them a GREAT JUMP start on the DISNEY MAGIC!!!
Would also love to watch the Electrical Water Pageant afte dinner!!!!

I would maybe suggest the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show?
Plenty of food, drink, and an exciting way to kick things off.

Ohana would be good choice. And after dinner, the chairs by the pooolside bar (they serve some non-alcoholic kiddie drinks) are an excellent location to watch the water pageant and fireworks.

What about Chef Mickeys???????
Dh thinks this would be good????????

I was going to recommend it, but I couldn't think of a good location at the Contemporary to watch the water pageant. I'm sure there's a few good viewing spots there, I just don't know where they are. There's a great place to watch the fireworks, on the 4th floor balcony (on the opposite end from Chef Mickey's).

Chef Mickey's is nice for a large group, because a buffet gives you lots of food choices. We weren't very impressed with the food, but it wasn't bad.

It's also a excellent chance to get some character pictures. A lot of teens think they're too cool, or don't want to waste valuable ridetime taking character pictures in the park. But at the character meals, you get their undivided attention, and it's a great opportunity for some memorable photos.

Remember as you go into Chef Mickey's, they have you pose for a group photo. Towards the end of your meal, someone will come around offering to sell you a package of the pictures (you can also get them on Photopass). We ended up buying the picture pack and also got a nice frame at Downtown Disney, and the Chef Mickeys groupshot is sitting in our living room. So make sure everyone looks presentable for a good photo.

We tried to get Ohana's our first night, so that we could watch the fireworks and water parade afterwards,. We couldn't get the time we needed so we opted for 1900 Park Fare, which was on our list too. I think any of the restaurants in that area would be great for a first night and then you can make your way to a good location for the water parade. So, I would go with Ohana's, Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare.

We always do the HDDR our first night. It's a great way to kick it off and the food isn't bad either.

Our first night dinner tradition is Le Cellier. We love it there and then we walk around the World Showcase, and afterwards get a spot to watch Illuminations.

I know you mentioned wanting to watch the Electrical Water Parade afterwards..if that is so, then you might want to try 'Ohana at the Poly or maybe do LTT or Crystal Palace at the MK.

Previous years 1st nights included WCC and Ohana, this year we are doing Teppan Edo!
