We are staying off-site and plan to rent a car. So, the first day (Sat, 4/30) we plan to drive straight to Epcot and spend our afternoon there. We had dinner PS for Chef Mickey at 8:20pm.

1) If we park at Epcot, paying the $7 parking fee, and then drive to Contemporary for dinner, will we have to pay to park there? How much does it cost to park at Contemporary?

2) Should we plan to just drive straight to Contemporary, park there, then ride the monorail over to Epcot. We would then ride the monorail back for dinner, and have our car where we need it after dinner? (This is actually what I prefer)

3) If we can do #2 - will we have to show our MYW tickets to be able to get one the monorail in the first place? I don't have the tickets yet, and was planning to buy them in advance and pick them up at Will Call at Epcot. Since we will not get there until around 1pm, I didn't think there would be a big line at will call to get our tickets.

4) If we have to have the tickets already to get on the monorail, should we still park at Contemporary, walk to MK TTC, get tickets at will call there and hop the monorail to Epcot?

5) Can we even park at Contemporary and leave our car there until we come back for dinner?

I know that was alot, but I've never been to WDW, and I have SO many questions. Thanks so much in advance! - Mary

BTW - MK closes early that day for grad night, and there will be no fireworks show there. I don't know if that will make a difference.

There is no charge to park at any of the resorts unless you use their valet parking. You cannot park at any resort and leave your car there to visit a park, most especially at any park on the monorail line or any resort that abuts a park, ie: Boardwalk abuts Epcot.

Your first thought is the way I would go if I were you.
Have fun planning. :)

FYI- Parking is $8 at the theme parks :)

I would park at Epcot and ride the monorail back and forth to your destinations. You never have to show park passes to board a monorail.

Thank you all for the info. I think we will go with option #1, then. I REALLY want the car at the Contemporary when we finish our meal, since it will be close to 9:30-10:00pm, and I'm sure my DD will be pooped (us too).

Thanks a bunch! Mary

No, you won't have to pay.

This is not allowed. When you arrive at teh Contemporary for dinner, you will be checked against a list of PS's, and given a three hour parking permit to put on your dash. They can and DO tow those who overstay their welcome. In other words, you arrive in the morning, and don't ahve a PS, you very likely won't be able to park there even if you say you're going for breakfast--rather you'll be told to go to the TTC and take the monorail over. If they do allow you to park there, it will be for three horus, after which time you'll likely be towed. We saw them towing cars on January 8th and it wasn't even that crowded.

Moot point :)

No--as above, you can't leave your car there all day.

5) Can we even park at Contemporary and leave our car there until we come back for dinner?

Nope.

No difference.

Why not just leave the car in the Epcot lot and return there after dinner?

Anne

Thanks for taking time to answer, Anne. YIKES! I would hate to get towed. I will go with option #1.

I thought about leaving the car at Epcot, just so we could ride the monorail, but since it will be so late when we are done, and having a 6-yr old, we want to be able to leave straight from there to get to our hotel. We would still need to get checked-in, too. I just don't want to spend more time to ride the monorail back to Epcot. I know it would be a quick ride back, but even a few minutes could make the difference between getting to bed and having a meltdown - LOL.

Thanks, Mary

Now that the monorail isn't even going to be a factor, we might even go to MGM that day instead! LOL
