I am trying to log off of PlutopinsJLM (my daughter's name) so I can sign on with my DIS name ...BeautyLLM. When I log her off, I get a message that says cookies cleared, but the next screen says "welcome back Plutopins JLM." I have deleted temp files...no change. Any suggestions?? I am going through posting withdrawal!!

<font color=navy>The same thing happened to me & my ds, Nick. I had to clear my cookies, and then I could get into the site. I was too lazy to choose the right one for the DIS, & just deleted all of them, but you can just delete the one for the DIS if you don't want to affect your other internet sites.

I can't get DW logged off. I deleted everything in the cookie folder, deleted the history, and temp internet files. She is still logged in!! Any suggestions? TIA

We are in the same boat...my DD wants to write under her name but cannot log me off ( I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere !?! ). So people from the technical side of things, could we get some help please. Also while you are at it, I wrote awhile back asking about the Black Dot on the envelope that lets you know which threads you have written on and NO ONE answered back. Sorry if I sound grumpy but I thought that is what this site is about, helping those who have very little technical knowledge.
So please help us Log off....
Log in.....
and also...show us
where we have been.
Thank you, Wenabre

Both of you have the correct settings checked for multiple users. The only thing I can think of is to manualy delete all of the cookies that the DIS created on your PC. I will need to know what operating system you have in order to help you out with this.

Cookies can be located in more than one folder and in the same folder but for a different user!

I think the black dot thing has been disabled until the server situation has been cleared up. I'm not sure about it though.

We would like to solve this, but I can't help you if you don't help me. I need this information or I can't give you instructions on what to do. Others are having this problem, and it would be a great help to them as well.

My computer is a Pentium 3, 128.0 MB Ram. I hope that this is enough information, it is all my daughter could find. Thank you for your help.

I need the operating system Windows 95,98, ME, 2k,.............

I also need to know that the problem is still happening as well.

My Daighter says we have the ME edition of Windows. Yes I just tried again to log off and it still keeps me on. Thanks for your help.

That's one of the two operating systems that I don't have here.

Try this:

1) Open up "My Computer"

2) Open Your "C" drive

3) Let me know if you have these folders or not on that drive without opening up any other folders:

a) Documents and Settings

or

b) Windows

If someone else here has ME and also the know how, can you find me the temp-IE folder and also determine if there is a seperate cookie folder like in there is in 98 and 2k please?

JC

and under my own name too!!!!! I am wenabre's DD. I went into My computer, C:, Windows, Teporary Internet files and deleted all of the files in that folder. Thanks for your help!!!!:)

OK.........we are running Windows XP (home edition). We have never had a problem logging *********** out and then logging GenePA in.....until about two weeks ago. Nothing has changed on our system and judging by the comments of a few others, nothing has changed on theirs either. I just deleted the cookies' under Documents & Setttings.....then went back to the forums main page and tried to log Suite Disney out.....it did not work. I also changed how cookies were handled for this individual website (under internet tools) and that still did not work. So at this time, we are still unable to log Suite Disney out and GenePA in......

Any suggestions?

This has happened to me as well in the past. If the cookies get corrupted, which can happen without you knowing it, they will not delete correctly and you will see this problem.

I don't have XP but I assume the folders are much like 2K. Under Documents and Settings, do you have folders for individual users and then Cookies folders under each user? Just making sure that you are deleting all the cookies as there may be more than one Cookies folder.

The other thing to do is be sure that you are not on a DIS web page while deleting the cookies. Go to some other site like www.yahoo.com and then go and delete the cookies or get out of your browser entirely. Then delete everything in the cookies folder(s) before you get back in. This is what finally worked for me when I was having this problem.

Hey BobBrazeal, you were right on! I had deleted the cookies before but was still logged on the 'DIS' board. Once I got off and then deleted the cookies again (because I had put them back....from the recycle bin), I could get in. Now *********** will just have to figure out what she wants to do with all of her 'cookies' in the recycle bin. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the help!

I can't even find WHERE to log off at. I had thought about have my DD sign up to ask Q's for our up coming trip, instead of doing it under my name, but I am not even sure how to log me off. (makes me feel really silly, since i am generaly computer literate)
