Help please!! Grapefruit cake at Brown Derby

I really want to try this, but my family isn't eating at the Brown Derby this trip.

Is there anywhere that I can buy a slice of grapefruit cake to go?

If they do have it to go somewhere, it's okay if it's in the Disney Studio's. On an afternoon "break" I can ride the boat over from my hotel, eat my piece of cake and ride back! (my alone time from my family!)

I've heard mixed reports about people being able to get a piece by asking at Starring Rolls. Worth a shot.

They don't have it on display at Starring Rolls but if you ask they go next door and get it for you to go. I didn't care for the cake but the women at Starring Rolls were so wonderful, worth the trip alone. They even gave me the recipe.

You could always make an ADR for just yourself, and just order dessert. Especially if you go mid-afternoon, it's never crowded there.

I did the same thing, and was able to get it. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The sweetness of the icing canceled out the bitterness of the grapefruit. It was still slightly bitter, but the icing helped a lot. And I also agree that those Starring Rolls ladies were amazingly nice.
