Hello folks!
I have been going to parks all my life, seeing as how I live near by and my father has worked for The World for the past thirty years. But.... I have never stayed at any of the resorts! So this Christmas as an early present to myself I am booking a room at a "moderate" resort for mid December. But I need helping choosing which one! Which ones are your favorites? I am planning to get a king bed since it'll just be me and I want an awesome bed! Biggest draw in what I'll choose. :) So if anyone could help with suggestions of their favorite moderate resort, about the bed, or what they request, check in, whatever! I have never done this before and am really excited!

I can use all the help and suggestions I can get! :goodvibes:

I like both Port Orleans resorts, especially at Christmas.

Don't forget to take advantage of the FL resident tickets (if you don't have an AP) and ask about discounts. There's usually a good FL resident rate out this close to travel, but you may not have as much choice of where you stay.

Good luck.

I love Port Orleans Riverside. Beautiful property! Also the boat to Downtown Disney is really nice. I think the theme would be perfect around Christmas time!

As much as I like Port Orleans Riverside and agree with others that is is a nice Resort, I have to highly recomend Coronado Springs for an Adult's Holiday, it is the " Deluxe" of the Moderates, quite Lovely, King Bed Rooms are Swell. The Grounds are Beautiful, Dining Options very good, Bars, Pools, transport, all very good :thumbsup2

Thank you for all your replies, any more advice you may have I would love! I am now a cast member myself and am excited to be using my holiday discount (only reason I can book a moderate resort). ;) I think I have it narrowed down to either Port Orleans or Coronado Springs... But what do you like to request when you are getting a room? How do you word them? What are the big differences between these resorts?

I'm a know it all when it comes to the parks! But the resorts? This is an entirely different adventure!

Hey congrats on being an intern !! Our DS is also there as an intern now, and we leave in 4 days to visit him. I would go to the AllEars website and check out some of the advice they give for the different rooms at different resorts. Whichever you end up choosing will be very nice. Good luck..

POR-Riverside is our fav moderate. I like the mansion section and request ether Magnolia Terrace or Acadian House, close to quiet pool and river path.
I go with one or both my adult daughters in their 20's. They both love POR.

It has a boat to DTD, beautiful grounds, great food court, fun evening entertainment, and love the theming.
The rooms have just been re-done in both those buildings too. Very nice. We stayed in Aug.

Congrats on your new job with WDW!
