Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I booked today for Sept 28-Oct 5 at the Beach Club, 2 adults and 1 4 year old. We are a military family, so we received the 40% off the resort. We also included the Deluxe Dining Plan. The total fee they gave me is $4082.98. When I do the math, it works out to $3191.81. That is $1433.81 for the meal plan and $1758 for the resort (down 40% from the $2930 quoted online. Where is the extra $900 going??

I just called, and they assured me that I was receiving the 40% off for the entire stay, but yet she said that she couldn't break down the costs for me. When I do the math with the discount only on the first 3 nights, it works out closer to what we've been charged (the 40% offer ends on Sept 30, when we'll be there). I told the lady that we would come a week earlier if we weren't getting the discount the whole time, but she said we were.

Can anyone make sense of this? The system wasn't working well when I just called so I'm waiting until later to call again. But I am travelling with family and trying to figure out if they are better off booking through my discount or getting the free meal plan, and I don't want all of us to get charged an extra $900!

Help!

The %-off discounts typically do not extend past the stated days, so you are most likely right about it being the days past Sept. 30 causing the increase. Are you able to book with the military discount online? If I need to call for some reason, I always price online first (if I can) so that I know exactly what to expect.

While free dining applies to entire stay based on arrival date, room discounts apply only to the dates that are available for discounts. If the special is valid through September 30th, it won't apply to the dates past that. I have booked with pin codes that had blackout dates and the CM kept trying to convince me that they had applied it to entire stay (um, no)!

But, let's do the math.

For your dates, 7 nights in a standard room at BC is $430 + tax on weekends and $400 + tax on weekdays. Without a discount, the room portion with tax should be: $2860 + tax. With discount + tax, it should be: $1,931.

Plus DxDP for 7 nights, reg season, 2 adults + 2 kids = $1364.

Do you have to buy tickets when you are on a military package? On a regular package you have to buy park tickets.

So far, without any tickets, I get $3295. Could the difference be that she added tickets?

Or, let's assume the discount only applied through September 30th. The room cost with discount until Sept 30th and tax would be $2,651. Add DxDp ($1364) and we have $4,015. Slightly less than the $4082 you were quoted. My guess is that you are booked in a GV room instead of a standard? So, it does sound like the discount only applied through Sept. 30th.

Military familiy here too.If you call, you can ask them to crunch the numbers for you. Thats what I did, and free dining was cheaper for me. I can't understand why the couldn't.

Im staying at Pop with 2 adults, 2 kids for 7 nights, 7 days for 2100 with free dining plan in sept. It would have been 2600 with the military tickets, and room discount.
