Help please-Disney e-gift card through Raise and DVSA (won't load)

I know there are several threads on buying Disney gift cards at the best price, Target, Walmart, Raise, Cardpool, etc. :)

I have already done this so not sure why it won't work now and getting a little nervous. I can't call the Disney Vacation Savings Account peeps until 11am EST so I'm hoping someone can help in the meantime and perhaps put my mind at east. I didn't want to reach out to Raise just yet in case it's user error or Disney error.

I purchased a Disney e-gift card through Raise.com and yes it's the one that *can* be used for cruises, WDW, etc and has the Mickey with sunglasses on it. It's for $341.57 and I put that amount in as my "make a one time contribution" and put the account number and PIN and keep getting a reject message saying:
  • Error: An error occurred while processing your payment. Please verify your information and try again.
I tried making it an even dollar amount of $340, then $300, and nothing is working. I'm copying and pasting the numbers so I know I have them correct. Any ideas? Last time I purchased an even $50 through Raise and like I said, no issues at all and I even posted in a thread to advise I had tested it out and it worked just fine.

I also checked the balance on www.disneygiftcard.com and it's indeed legit and all there. I read through the FAQ's and says you can contribute any amount between $10 and $2000.

Thanks,
Heather

The only thing I can think of is not copying and pasting the numbers in, type them out? Have you tried that yet?

Sometimes I have had issues with other sites not working when copying and pasting things like coupon codes in.

Hopefully they can help you when you call them!

You know, I swear I read someone had this issue, so yes, I tried that too! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm just praying that if I can't load into the DVSA after calling them and trouble shooting that I can get a refund if it won't work and at the very least, bring with me on my cruise in June and see if they can manually enter and put towards my onboard account. I just don't want to be out $324.00 (what I paid) and/or use only for the disneystore.com as that's not what this card has stated.

I'll keep the thread updated - thanks again :)

I just hung up with the DVSA c/m and not really feeling "confident" at this point but I have no choice but to wait it out a bit. I gave her the account number and she said it doesn't pull up on her side and therefore shows zero. I reminded her that I had already validated on www.disneygiftcard.com and it shows the amount now. She thinks it has something to do with it being over the weekend and it's not fully activated on the Disney side of things and to allow it to tomorrow to update and try again. She even mention maybe the site was down and try later but nope, I already used my Disney Visa for $10.00 to test it and it went right through :( The part that has me nervous is she said if I were to give this account number to pay for tickets it wouldn't go through since it's not showing on their side. :crazy2:

Again, had I not already done this with Raise this past week I wouldn't be as worried as that worked seamlessly and I entered that one within 5 minutes of receiving it from Raise. She did mention if it still doesn't work tomorrow she can submit a ticket which sounded like she could have someone manually enter it but I don't want to drag this out too long worrying about it.

Would love to hear if this has happened to anyone else?

Thanks,
Heather

I purchased a gift card through raise.com thinking it was a Disney gift card but it turned out to be a Disney store card. It could only be used in a store or online with the Disney Store. Raise refunded my purchase since it was listed incorrectly without issue. Good Luck!

Interesting :) I just did a chat with Raise and I know others have said how great their service is and so far I'd agree. She said they will make it right for me and not to worry. I did mention the same - it clearly says it's for WDW, cruise, store, etc. but perhaps the person who sold it misrepresented it? She said human error does sometimes happen and she confirmed it is indeed as I stated, e-gift card for all of those and should work. She is issuing a ticket for it to look into it further and said I should hear back no later than Tuesday.

I will keep you all update (in case this helps someone else in the future).

I have no clue about the Disney Vacation Account but wonder if the person that sold it to Raise had already "filed" that number on their own account in case lost or stolen so if they did hat you cannot do it now?

I was going to suggest contacting RAISE but looks like you already did that.

Thanks guys! I'm still waiting but I might call the Disney gift card people as my hunch (especially since this happened with another poster) is it's not *really* a card valid for WDW, Cruise, etc. but only a Disney card for the stores and was misrepresented by perhaps the seller, not sure. That seems to be the only logical reason why it shows on the gift card side with a full balance and no issues but yet on the Disney side and DVSA it won't apply it. Heck, it's worth a try at this point.

Thanks,
Heather

That sounds like the most logical reason since it shows a balance online but won't load into DVA.

I had a problem with a Target gc I purchased from Raise. It showed on the Target website, but come to find out the giftcard had went dormant. Customer Service at Raise was able to fix it for me within an hour.

I did not realize that was possible with Target gift cards. Thanks for the info. What did Raise customer service do to correct the problem? Thanks.

And, Good Luck Heather!

Interesting! Did you contact them via their "chat" function? Clearly mine has been longer than an hour and you can't help but be a little bit nervous about it. I'm sure there might be a logical answer somewhere but I want it soon!

Me again (aren't you guys tired of me by now?) Lol - I decided since I'm leaving town after tomorrow I needed this resolved one way or the other so called them. She put me on hold and asked and came back and said the same, it sounds like it's really an in-store credit only type card and said I can't use for payment like I was trying. I did politely remind her that's not what was advertised and I just did this with a $50 earlier this week which worked fine. She apologized and had no issue at all refunding me the full amount so at least I know I'm getting my money back.

Something very interesting happened though - I had up my Raise.com account and luckily I was smart and printed my order off when I first got the email with the picture of the card (it's the Mickey with sunglasses) and my numbers as I just prefer to track what I put into my DVSA that way - well, as soon as she did that, the picture on the card changed to a green one and then underneath it now shows:

  • $341.57 Disney Parks (In Store Only) Gift Card (2729)
SO - clearly they validated that and changed it. Her last comment was typically the uneven amounts are usually store credits and the even ones I had like the $50 are the others but again, that's *not* how they advertised it - so I hope this hopes someone in the future :)

Thanks for the support,
Heather

Glad it worked out well for you in the end.

I went on raise today and only saw the store gift cards where do I see the Disney gift cards that I can ise to purchase the Dining Plan or use on cruise?

Thank you.

Yep that is what happened to me also. Glad you were able to get a refund, Raise customer service is very good about that. I've had 2 issues with cards 1 Disney and 1 other and both were handled quickly.

I believe that people listing don't always understand the difference between a Disney Gift Card and a Disney Store Card. I would agree with the even amounts are more likely to be Disney Gift Cards.

Thanks for the update!

How would you know this when you want to purchase a card?
I went onto raise and looked at the cards but they all look like store cards. Is there something I need to see to find
out if I can use in parks and cruise?
I would like to purchase one to purchase the Dining Plan.

There is no way to know for sure until you try to load them to your Disney Savings Account try to purchase Disney dining plan but the even amounts seem to be the Disney gift cards not Disney Store Cards. I'll just take my 5% discount with my Target Red Card in store to purchase Disney Gift Cards for now. If Raise or Cardpool has Target gift cards greater than 5% I'll purchase them and buy Disney Gift Cards online. Good Luck.
