Help Please! Best hotel for 2 small kids?

I need help trying to choose the best hotel which is friendly to dd3 and dd1. We will need a place for 5 nights & will only go to the park for MVMCP, then we will be leaving on our cruise. My husband has to work while there, so I need a place where the kids & I can play in the water, playground?, have easy access to food.
The email postcard rates are great so I was hoping to take advantage of them, but I do not know if a value or moderate is better, and if so which one for small kids.

I think any hotel, value or moderate will do just fine. We stayed with our 2 & 3 yr olds (now 8 & 9) at the Port Orleans, during our last visit. But if you want to save a little money I think the value hotels will do just fine.

If you're stuck there with no parks for 5 days, I would recommend the Port Orleans resorts. The playgrounds are way cool. You can go fishing. The pools are terrific fun and you have access to both. If you get tired of the one where you are staying, you can rent a surrey bike and head next door! Need to shop? Hop on the boat to Downtown Disney. Plus, the grounds are beautiful. You won't be bored there!!

With a 1yr and 3yr old, you will need a kiddie pool or the very shallowest part of a zero entry pool. I believe all the resorts have a kiddie pool, and all that I have seen are the same - a 20 foot circle about 12 - 18 inches deep. I few of the Deluxe resorts have zero entry pools. since you are going to the park only one nnight of your stay, it doesn't matter which resort - relative to distance to the park.

As far as food - the "most" convenient is again the deluxe resorts - the other resorts will has a walk - sometimes short, sometimes long to a food court.

If it is within you budget I'd suggest AKL - nice pool, easy access to food, kid activities, relaxing, and great animal views.
