It's that time again- time to plan a July disney trip. I have 2 questions:
1. has anyone ever been to disney's vero beach resort? what's it like?
and
2. I know this is covered somewhere, but do I need only one AP pass to get a room discount
I've just been reading random threads (I love this board) and thought maybe this year I should do it. My dh wants to try the RPC at GF- (after years of going to the BC we tried the GF last summer and everyone loved it) but I know he doesn't realize how expensive it is

also, does anyone know if they are going to have the 5+2 again this year (or even better, the 4+3 from 2 years ago)
thanks

Hi Pavel,
You'll probably get a lot more answers anout Vero Beach ( I'm presuming you're asking about Disney's resort down there) by asking on the DVC (Disney Vacation Club) boards on this site. The Disney Vero Beach resort is part of the DVC collection of resorts and there are many members on the DVC boards who own or visit Vero Beach.

I've been there many times and it's a great resort. Right on the beach, has a great pool area, the staff work extra hard to give you that "Disney magic" and the restaurants in the resort are very good (if a touch pricey in the area). It's a pretty simple drive from WDW, takes about 3-4 hours I'd guess, you can pick up directions from any of the other DVC resorts at WDW or print them off mapquest once you have the address of the resort.

If you want some specific advice about types of units, restaurants, activities you'll get them answered on the DVC boards quickly. It's best to give as much information as you can about your trip/needs and be specific in your questions so that those answering can understand what it is you need most.

Vero is awesome! It's about 2hrs away from WDW right on the beach. The resort is beautiful and has a great pool with a lighthouse waterslide, hot tub,and children's pirate ship water playground themed after Peter Pan. The resort has 2 great resturaunts - on character breakfast held on Sat.'s with Goofy & his son Max. There are lots of activities right in the resort for the kids as well as massages to be had for the adults:)

If you ask more specific questions I can be of more help and if you ask this over on the DVC board you'll probably get at least triple the respones as VB is a DVC resort;)

Can't be too much help on the tickets as I've gotten an AP for the last few years but I know they have switched over to the MMY tickets now. You do only need 1 AP to be eligible for room discounts though and it can even be a childs AP.

HTH's

Thought crossed my mine for this trip, 8 days Wilderness Lodge and 5 days Vero Beach. But after alittle checking, its about the same money as staying at WDW, will cost me a car rental for the Vero thing plus the 2 hour drive. We get to Kissimmee by Amtrak and take a cab to WDW, for the same money or less with more to see and do, WDW is the best bet. Going to stay 13 nights at WDW, no car, no drive and after you see the ocean and swim in it, what next?? Used to do Myrtle Beach, but after 2 days of sand, ocean is was in the car looking for things to do and spending money to do it. On property at Disney has it all and other than the parks is free for the taking and enjoying!

I just did not think about the dvc boards!
I agree with you pepe-the only reason I am looking into a beach is that we are planning a vacation with my sister and her family. they don't want to go to disney (can you believe it!) so, I was thinking that if they wanted a beach we could try Vero for a few days (it's still disney, right?) and then go on to wdw. wish me luck!

We were at Vero Beach last year for 3 days and we loved it.!! Unfortunatly we didnt get to really do any of the great activities they had to offer as we were there for Hurricane Charley. But it was a great resort and we have plans to go back again. Call before you go and they will send you some of the activity schedules......they will change a little with the dates and times etc but it gives you a great idea of waht they have to offer. Good luck and enjoy.

We went to Vero Beach last summer at the end of our WDW vacation. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a ton of stuff for the kids to do. In fact the kids loved it so much they want to start going every summer. This year we are doing our WDW vacation in June and going back for Vero the first week of August.

As for the AP question each AP you have can book up to THREE rooms. I double checked last night because we have four AP's and are going to be booking 7 rooms. I wanted to be sure I would be able to get an AP rate for all of them and CM said yes!
