I am a DW first timer. I am taking my family of four to Disney World May 27 - June 4th, 2016. I am in the preliminary stages of planning. Man is it alot of work. I was looking for suggestions of what rides to ride and when. Right now we are looking at doing Magic Kingdom in the evening of the 27th and all day the 28th. I understand fastpass and rider switch. Just looking for some suggestions on an evening itenerary for the 27th and all day for the 28th. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Touring Plans....I use it sometimes, but they have an option where you can put in what attractions you want to accomplish on a day, and they will set up an schedule for you.

Are you on the dining plan? How old are the kids? What hotel? There's a lot of factors.

Magic Kingdom has, by far, the most rides of any park. I would pick one or two lands to focus on during your first evening. Generally speaking, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are on one side of the park, and Adventureland and Frontierland are on the other side of the park. If you have young children, Fantasyland has the most iconic Disney rides, and you may want to start there. Look at a map or list of attractions in each land and decide where you want to start. Stick to that area in the evening by making all your FP's there and by eating there. The next day, plan to hit the other lands.

Touringplans. com has multiple touringplans for every park. Easywdw.com has cheat sheets for each park that recommend an itinerary and give suggestions for FP selections. Both give recommendations for which parks to go to each day of your visit.

We are not on the dining plan. We will have a 9 year old and a 2 year old. We are staying at a condo about 4 miles away.

Congratulations on your trip! I love the planning part. The anticipation is so much fun for me, especially now that my girls are old enough to contribute their ideas. Others have recommended really good websites already, and so much depends on the ages and interests of your family. I agree with GlassSlipperGirl about picking a Land or two to focus on the evening you arrive. I would also suggest allowing some time to explore Main Street and take pictures in front of the Castle. Take a moment and enjoy that first walk down Main Street USA and the view of the Castle! One thing to consider, for the day you arrive, using your third Fast Pass for the Wishes fireworks show. Finding a good spot to watch the fireworks can be stressful for some (like me! lol) After the fireworks you can go to a FastPass kiosk and start using your rolling Fast Pass, if your kiddos are still going strong at that point. Have fun planning and enjoy your trip!

Does Touringplans and EasyWDW recommend parks days differ? I noticed that EasyWDW and Undercover Tourist recommended days are totally opposite. I'm not sure if I should take any one site suggestion over another. I've seen the majority of people rave about the accuracy of EasyWDW. I'm going in May so I'm also worried about if attraction closures, attractions that may or may not be open like Frozen when we go, or Rivers of Light at AK, idk if these things will throw off the crowd levels at particular parks.

I look at all of the crowd predictions I can find (so also kenny the pirate) and believe whichever ones the most of them lean to. I think Undercover Tourist exaggerates sometimes...at least I hope they do! They have all of our MK days in the red whereas EasyWDW and KTP have them as green or yellow. It seems to me that those two take more factors into consideration whereas undercover tourist automatically says MK is in the red fri/sat/mon.

If you are dying to see something that may not open until after your scheduled vacation and you don't think you'll be able to head back the next year, I'd change my trip dates to when I knew those new experiences would be open.

It's important to remember that crowd calendars are all predictions. Any one of the sites can be wrong when the day actually arrives. But they do give you a good general idea, especially if they predict it will be really crowded.

I'm not really worried about missing anything, I've just never looked at any of the predictions and wondering if they are worth looking at and if so which ones.
