Our FP+ day is soon approaching and we are struggling with choosing park days. A quick little piece of background - we have been to WDW many times, have always stayed on site, have never gotten PH, and have never used EMH. We are thinking about doing this trip a little different. We have not been to WDW in five years so there is much we are looking foward to doing for the first time and this will be out last family trip before our oldest goes off to college, so we are looking to go big.

We have 10 day tickets and plan to do 3 days at MK and DHS and 2 days at EP and AK and we are looking to do as much as possible without killing ourselves. Because we can only go during the summer, we have always taken advantage of RD and FP, but I am seriously considering changing some of our plans this time.

Here's where I am hoping for help. Looking at KtP's crowd calendar, the only recommended days to visit MK are EMM days. That seems to defeat the purpose of using RD to our advantage. Would you do MK on a EMM day if you didn't have EMM tickets?

Instead, I am wondering if we may be better off doing morning EMH and only doing half days in the parks. Because we have ten days, I think we can do everything we want without spending full days in the parks. In fact, we are thinking that we may spend part of one of our AK days and one of our EP days at a waterpark. What do you think?

Thanks!

The EMM event has no impact on your rope drop advantage other than there may be a couple hundred FEWER people heading to 7DMT, PP, etc because they've already got their fill of them during the EMM. So if those days fit into your schedule, I wouldn't worry about it.

We like the morning EMH...it's a little cooler in the morning and we get a lot done in that hour. It's vacation and a lot of people don't want to get up early. However, make sure you are really going to get up and get to the park. You need to be AT the turnstiles ready to go in at least 15 min before the park opens to take full advantage.

With 10 days, I know my family would do at least a couple days either half park or skip the regular parks altogether and hit up a waterpark. We like both of them. You could do a water park in the morning, get an afternoon nap, and then do just the nighttime entertainment at a couple of the regular parks.

we went last august and also had park hopper plus tickets. we did spend a few days at the water park in the morning and then had FP booked for late afternoon/early evenings. we also would go to a park in the morning, hang by the pool and then go to a different park at night. we also went mini golfing in the morning or after going to a park in the morning. the park hopper plus gives you lots of options to change up each day, esp since you will be there 10 days.

EMM doesn’t really affect you much at all. The point of EMM is for there to barely be a wait for 7DMT, PP, etc so if you’re going to any of those rides open for EMMA it won’t be much of a problem and if you’re going anywhere else it definitely won’t be a problem. Why don’t you use EMH? We always do and find that it doesn’t actually affect crowds the way people think it does.

I would keep your previous RD strategy as you can get A LOT done in that first hour. Generally speaking, you want to avoid MK on *any* Saturday and also on Sunday, if possible. IF F&G is going on, avoid Epcot on Fridays and Saturdays as schools often do field trips on that day. Once I was told at Epcot entry that a mere 1600 middle school kids were there that day (I opted for a different park!). I'm also a firm believer in EMH!
