Help plan Grampy's b-day dinner... please!

Hi everyone!

My father-in-law will be celebrating his 60th birthday on his FIRST trip to WDW with our family. I'd love to find a special restaurant or dinner show (preferably on the dining plan) for our party of 6 to celebrate. Which restaurants do something special for birthdays? Any suggestions???? Thanks a bunch!

Like getting an upgrade at a resort or anything else, it is hit or miss as to whether a restaurant will do something special. If you want something special, you are better off arranging yourself so you won't be disappointed. That being said, they acknowledged our anniversary at every restaurant last month (except Whispering Canyon Cafe) with a cupcake, cake, card or something. You could go to Coral Reef and order the diver to hold up a sign for Grandpa!

yes, as KatMark has said, you could go to coral reef and have the diver hold up a sign. Another suggestion is going to Biergarten?always fun lol. What types of food does your dad like?!

Thanks for those suggestions. Has anyone done Hoop de Doo Revue for a birthday dinner? That looks like something he might enjoy. (??)

Hoop De Doo would be fun. Last year when we went they made a big deal out of birthdays.

How old are the grand children? As a 62 yo grandfather the best place to take me for a birthday dinner would be a place that the kids really like - approach your choice from that direction.
